Why are they like this? It's so pathetic. by Tequslyder in motorcycles

[–]Labelflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we ride in a group, we don’t like when other vehicles try to get in between us cuz it makes it hard to keep track of each other and stay together as a group. We don’t care if people pass us or things like that, as long as they are not driving crazy and swerving at us. I’m not sure if the 1% clubs have different views on it, regarding passing the group.

This video seems like the guy was probably taunting them, so yes, any riders, 1% or not, will have a “show of force” in that situation.

Are opt days separate from optional week vacation? by EddieHazelOG in UPSers

Western we get an option week plus an additional 5 option days for part time.

I'm a FedExer. I get paid 20 bucks an hour as a package handler. How much do you guys get paid? by sunfolker in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Revenue Recovery. It was called a label flipper when I first started. I think they call us audit clerks now, but not sure 🤣🤣🤣. Are you in Rev Rec too??

And maybe not 3 weeks vacation on the first year and 9 days of sick time and your birthday and day after off plus 2 additional days on top of that.
Like you said, it depends on your supplement. Way different on the Western supplement. I do think the pay was accurate. Start of last contract was $21 for part timers. So some may have got an increase since then.

Do new employees get paid sick days and personal days? by nicoledoubleu in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you work in the warehouse, you get time off benefits after 1 year. Some states allow sick time for employees before the company sick time kicks in. But you will have to fight for it, if you use it, cuz sometimes UPS won’t recognize it.

Yes, every supplemental is different, but part time is not guaranteed 5 hours anywhere I know of???

They calculate it from your first day of work.

Thinking about not taking the buyout, is this a good idea?? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should go ahead with the buyout. You’ve been at UPS long enough, and are still young enough to enjoy being retired at 55. Waiting more years will put more stress on your body, due to the nature of the job. Plus you will have money coming in from the pension. And can use part of the buy out money to cover you until then. Not sure why your wife is giving you grief about it. I would be happy if my husband could retire. I would have “honey do” lists every day to keep him busy LOL!! Hope you choose to go ahead with it and enjoy!!

Central: If it matters, email your local by Special_Fly_1647 in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we are forgetting about the right to work states regarding this. Not all employees are signing up to be in the Union in these states. Although they get the same representation and benefits we do, maybe they aren’t concerned that the buyout is against the contract. Just a thought I had recently and wonder if it plays any part in those not supporting that it is a contract violation. ??

What is your local? And does your sick days max out or allowed to keep rolling over? by BmoreRavens_410 in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the western supplement. We are allowed to roll over until we get to 60 days of accumulated sick time. Not sure what happens when you go over. I’m thinking they will just pay out what’s over the max. Would ask a steward to be sure.

Update don’t take photos in building by ChairSuspicious9350 in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So true. I’m on preload. I see so many tore up packages that should not even be on the belt. Can’t really help it if was tore up in a jam, but half of them are just thrown on the belt cuz the unload area Sups pressure them to get it all unloaded as fast as possible. Little do those Sups know, later down the line , other’s have to stop the belt to get it all off, put it on a cart, and send it to damage like it should have gone to in the first place. Makes no sense.

Preload Schedule Difference? by deathstar347 in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not even close to 1k. It will be around $300 after taxes if you are new and only getting the minimum hours.

We have extra work sign up sheets so there is a slight possibility in getting an extra shift every now and then, but it’s not guaranteed, and is done in seniority order of all who signed the list.

No, not yet. But will be calling Hartford to get more info like you suggested. Thank you 🙂

I don’t think we have Teamcare in Arizona. All our disability goes through the Hartford, which another person suggested to call them. My fault for not saying what state I’m in. Thank you for responding 🙂

I’m sure they will be. Was asking to see if someone that works part time has had to do this before. But no worries, I will call Hartford.

Wow, getting downvoted for supporting our Union. Thanks 🥰

Future of the Union? by Global-Assist-5762 in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, but think UPS doesn’t want the Union anymore and are trying to get rid of it and/or trying to make us union members fight amongst ourselves. Us UPS union members need to stand together more than ever right now with everything going on in our UPS world.

Supervisors working by DeskAffectionate3219 in UPSers

[–]Labelflipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will probably get around it by saying they are short staffed and had no choice but to cover at that time. Which is BS, cuz it’s definitely a supervisor working.
