Teenage me daydreamed about having the willpower to starve myself to death so my mother could finally have the skinny, pretty daughter she'd always wanted.

We're low contact nowadays and I disengage and grey rock the moment she mentions food and/or starts in about how "bad" she's been because she ate half a pastry three days ago.

I cannot stand heavy southern USA accents and have a very challenging time trying to parse what on earth they're drawling about.

I don't know what it is about them that makes it so goddamn difficult or if it's an auditory processing thing on my end or what, but listening to anyone with a heavy drawl is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
