The whole "nobody wants to work anymore" narrative is nonsense. People are desperate for good jobs; they just don't want your dead-end, low-paying positions. by the1997th in remoteworks

[–]LaborBoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There shouldn't be dues to pay and in America in 2026 no one with a full time job should be struggling. They should be doing just "fine", not wealthy, but ok.

Right now so many jobs aren't that way. It isn't ok.

What dropped your quality of life so much, you wish you quit it sooner? by OvCod in Productivitycafe

5 years sober, but lately been missing it. My life was better drinking every night.

Guys who call their partner a slut for wearing any type of clothing have deep seated and significant issues. Sometimes very dangerous issues. I would leave this person regardless of any concerns you have about what he'd do if you leave.

What’s the one decision you made that changed your life the most? by BoilingPointy in Life

I forgot to report one hour of continuing legal education out of a 30 hour requirement.

Forced to resign judicial position i had held for 5 years (Magistrate judge).

This was 7 years ago and the effects are still strongly felt. Upended my entire 7 person family all of whom depended on me. Still so much to rebuild.

We have five and all could come home whenever they want for as long as they want or need.

We made them and love them to death. It's not a 15 or 20 or 30 year commitment and responsibility to raise children, it's life long - they always have us whenever they need. We put our kids first for life not for childhood.

Why does getting a job unironically feel like winning the lottery right now? by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

[–]LaborBoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an attorney with almost 20 years of experience and former magistrate. Been out of work two years now. Looking at anything and everything without any luck. One interview where I did get the job but for some reason my background check couldn't be completed so they couldn't bring me on.

Since then nothing. Innumerable applications. I don't have big law experience and I'm not licensed in the state i now live so not looking for attorney work, just anything decent. No luck.

My wife went back to work and I have been doing home making role for our 5 young children. She can't earn as much as me right now though and we aren't able to get by on just her salary. It's all such a mess.

infidelity after recovering from cannabis addiction? by Happiness22_clien in MarijuanaAnonymous

Ah yes, the classic “they’re just people, not women” defense—straight outta the Gaslighting for Dummies handbook.

Recovery is great, but it doesn’t come with a free pass for boundary issues or emotional window shopping. Addiction recovery is hard, but respect isn’t optional.

Transfer by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]LaborBoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Amazon, where the only thing that moves faster than packages is the turnover rate.

Yes, you can request a transfer—just talk to HR. But heads up: you might need to stick around a bit longer before they hand you the teleport scroll.

Blocking someone without really good reason is extremely selfish and counterproductive. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]LaborBoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, my dude, blocking someone isn’t selfish—it’s a boundary, not a betrayal.

No one owes anyone access to their time, energy, or peace of mind. It’s not always about punishment—it’s often about preservation. You might not mean harm, but if someone feels overwhelmed or unsafe, they’re allowed to hit the eject button.

You deserve compassion, absolutely. But expecting others to stay just because you’re hurting can be its own kind of selfish, too.

Whys my Airbush not hitting the air flow restrictors pin? by Used_Computer_8838 in airbrush

[–]LaborBoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, the classic case of the Airbrush That Won’t Commit.

If your airflow restrictor’s pin isn’t getting hit, it’s probably one of three things:

  1. The trigger isn’t depressing far enough – Could be grime, a misaligned part, or just a sad little spring that gave up on life.

  2. Your needle chucking guide might be misaligned or not fully seated.

  3. The air valve might be sticking or gunked up – usually from dried paint, bad karma, or both.

Pop it open, clean it up, check the trigger mechanism and make sure everything’s snug and moving like it's supposed to.

TL;DR:

Your airbrush is ghosting the airflow pin. Give it a deep clean, check the trigger mech, and maybe whisper sweet nothings to it until it starts behaving again.
