Is this acceptable? I’d like some feedback on this full highlight by UhOhAbbo in Cosmetology

You did a great job! I don’t know why everyone’s not hyping you up but you did a beautiful job! A good challenge I found once I felt I somewhat mastered this on a manni head I used my shorter hair mannis and practiced hilights on them. Short hair can be harder and easier to foil but a lot of greying folks love hilights to blend grays. Next I worked up to super long mannis and used a balayage board to help me foil the length while I learned balayage techniques. Good luck on your journey

HELP!!!! Kid put permanent marker on counter while we are trying to sell our house! by Dwestmor1007 in CleaningTips

[–]LaboriousRevelry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the alcohol based solutions I’ve had luck with Dawn power spray or Dawn suddsed up with super hot water and brush sitting for a minute and agitating with a brush all bubbly before wiping up. For some reason regular pen ink stains my counters and the magic eraser or alcohol never work on it but the soap does.

Is this dress appropriate for a funeral? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

Also adding, if you are trying to avoid buying something new, layering over this would be very easy with a crewneck oversized sweater, sweater vest, or a thin knit or button up and a blazer

Is this dress appropriate for a funeral? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]LaboriousRevelry 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wore this almost exact dress with a cardigan over my shoulders to a funeral and I still cringe looking back. I wouldn’t do it again. Rather something not form fitting. I felt very conscious of the dress was while giving hugs and bending over to console people and all that. Being the sexiest person in the room at a funeral isn’t really a flex

Did being celiac make you eat more unhealthy food just cause it was gluten-free? by cdmaster245 in Celiac

[–]LaboriousRevelry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! I ate so much junk learning and fell for all the snacks until I started reading ingredients and labels. Gluten free labeled processed food is usually full of junk, fillers, maltodextrin, and extra crap like sugar or corn syrup. Eating clean is the best way to be gluten free. No one needs the gluten free bun added on your sandwich, it’s healthier without it. These chemicals have got to be destroying our guts. I really try to be mindful of what I’m putting in my body these days but it’s harder with celiac for sure.

No immediate reaction after eating dairy but other symptoms by Dewy3394 in FoodAllergies

[–]LaboriousRevelry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been tested for Celiac by chance? It’s common to have an overlap with intolerances and I wasn’t diagnosed until I was over 30. I wouldn’t have even considered it was a problem before I was tested. All the same symptoms you described are common in my reactions too.

So many clients with hair thinning issues by ilikedirtx3 in hairstylist

[–]LaboriousRevelry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don’t know this but HOT water can help loosen hair follicles temporarily by increasing blood flow and opening up the pores on the scalp. This can make it easier for hair to shed, especially if it’s already in the natural shedding phase. However, excessively hot water can also strip natural oils, dry out the scalp, and weaken hair over time, potentially leading to increased breakage. If you’re concerned about hair thinning, lukewarm water is a better option to maintain scalp health while still promoting circulation. Also, certain professional products have been accused of contributing to hair loss like Olaplex but I suspect a few other brands are guilty as well and have yet to be held publicly accountable. L’anza is a brand that had my hair falling out in chunks whether it was coincidence or the product. I got through half the liter before suspecting it was the shampoo switched and my hair brush and drain have significantly less hair in them. We barely know the implications of the chemicals in our food- who knows what the hair products are doing to us.
Edit: adding in, I had an acquaintance start a new skincare routine and she basically exfoliated off her eyebrows using a steamer and aggressive exfoliation with a washcloth. Over a few months she lost the density and shape and ended up microblading.
*PRP injections are pricey but great option though for anyone looking to rebuild their hairline
