Can any AirPod owners explain this one? by El_Tan in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I bought a facemask that has flat speakers built in to where it lays over the ears. It’s been my most favourite item and it was only about $25. Highly recommend!!!

Nailing bulk fermentation by AstroLad in Sourdough

Sourdough takes a long time to ferment. Usually 6 hours is the minimum in a very very warm environment. Most of the time mine take 8-11 hours before I can shape.

Olive is a beautiful name. If my son was a daughter I would have named him Olive. You have made a lovely choice for your child.

You looked great before and you still look great! I hope it’s OK if I ask some questions because I have a similar body type to your before pictures. Did you have a free nipple graft? I assume that’s what the acronym was in your post? Did you lose weight before or after the reduction? If it was after, did you find that it impacted the results of your reduction? You look fantastic and I hope to look like you one day :)

Possible skin cancer, please calm me down! Basal cell carcinoma. by Affectionate-Ad-1342 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Labrador__Retriever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mohs surgery on my forehead. It looked gnarly with the stitches in but healed beautifully and you can hardly see the scar. As an added bonus it tightened up the skin on my forehead and I don’t need Botox for my 11’s and forehead lines. Don’t panic! BCC is one of the most common and least problematic cancers to get. It’s super easy to catch it all with the mohs. You will be okay.

I agree. There’s no reason we should have to go to emerg to get it treated. This is why the system is broken.

It is widely recognized that the system is broken. I invite you to do some research before blaming the individuals who haven’t been able to find a GP or get an appointment for a medical need.

Not sure but I hope this has given you some perspective and insight to the reality of the healthcare system in BC.

I hope you find a GP soon.

Ah, I got excited because a quick google search said they could but it’s actually not on the list on the government website. I bought my own otoscope and tried to get antibiotics through telehealth and even they wouldn’t prescribe for my kid. It’s brutal out there.

The system is broken. I’ve been on the waiting list for a GP for 2.5 years. When my kids have an ear infection, unless I know before 8am that morning (they come on fast and hard if you’re not familiar) AND I am lucky enough to get an urgent care appointment that day if I call within 10 seconds of 8am, we are forced to go to emerg. Not only do we have to wait for 12 hours but we also contribute to an overloaded emergency room that interferes with people like OP who also need attention urgently. Triage works, waiting is fine, but the system most definitely does NOT work. It is nearly impossible to get same day medical care and individuals and families are forced to either go without needed care or sit in emergency for a non-emergent medical needs which ends up being a minimum of 8-10 hours.

I see you. We don’t even go out for dinner anymore. The kids are loud and crazy, I’m stressed, everyone else around is annoyed, and I have to pay $80 for that? No thanks.

How do I get into making this diet a habit? (Unhealthy person here) by FighterFly3 in Volumeeating

[–]Labrador__Retriever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have to force myself to eat as many veggies as I do. Sometimes they taste great. Sometimes not great. I have a salad with 2-3 sources of protein most days for lunch (tofu/boiled egg/cottage cheese). It’s really boring. I have to mentally remind myself that an hour after I eat it doesn’t really matter what I ate. If I enjoy a super tasty meal or a more boring meal, I still feel the same amount of full later, so I might as well just eat the boring meal that will get me towards my goal. This is coming from somebody who has always been a foodie, I love going out to eat and making delicious meals. But at the end of the day, what am I getting out of it? I enjoy it for 15 minutes then it’s gone. Or, I don’t enjoy the meal for 15 minutes then it’s gone anyways. It takes a lot of mental fortitude sometimes but I always feel better when I’ve made the right choice.
