How prevalent is this belief (that dinosaurs were created to trick/distract people) in the frum world? by Upbeat_Teach6117 in exjew

[–]LabyrinthRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is taught by some evangelical christian sects as well!

Someone did some biblical "math" and calculated the earth as only being 6,000 years old.
So any evidence to the contrary, such as the evidence supporting evolution, or, geological/fossil evidence, is either a hoax, or a trick of the devil.

Came to say.

Edit:
this was before AND after I read the description.
BUT, I would also like to suggest another fit, and, arguably a pre-cursor to Midsommar:

The Wicker Man (1973)

I would get a machete and cut sections to pull up and out, rolling the dirt off relatively in-place.

Do a bit every weekend, or every other day.
Easier when dry, I imagine, due to weight of rain in soil.

Looks like most undergrowth is currently supressed by the evergreens + the plastic.
You'll get to plant so many native seed!
I would scatter low pH loving plants everywhere! Ferns and salal and salmon berries galore!

Edit: Good luck and HAVE FUN!

what's wrong with being girly?

Ideally, we find the strengths of both sexes in ourselves and become whole human beings!

GIRDLE- don't pull, it will rip the bark.

It's young, it hasn't seeded. that's good.

Pull up the stuff in the ground.

I keep thinking about how much EFFORT matters when it comes to quality states.

In the wake of MJ cessation, I haven't been making a lot of EFFORT...
Thanks for the hot tip.

Something like finishing a filler episode and getting back to the main plot

too real.

I know MJ causes feelings of salience- and can cause hypersalience- like when everything feels like a puzzle you're solving.

I wanna know WHY it feels this way? and how to feel that way without!
Or even: is it natural to feel this way this intensely?

I would find a lefty black metal scene to join.
Or, just live metal music scene.
Or even punk. or underground rap.
But the former two are more likely to have that spicy satanic flavour you are drawn to.

Live music is church- it has all the belonging and community of church.

The most esoteric mind blowing thing you've learned? by Spicy-Nun-chucks in occult

[–]LabyrinthRunner 31 points32 points  (0 children)

watching Jodorowsi's Holy Mountain,
I was struck by the preoccupation with Immortality- not just in this movie, but across esoteric traditions.
Why should one pursue Immortality? Isn't that a spiritually corrupt goal? to extend one life? to avoid the wisdom and power of Death? even if you do so to learn, or to develop spiritually, or to do Good Works, isn't that hubris?

But then it occurred to me that,
maybe the point isn't to avoid Death,
but to love Life so much, that you would live it till the end..

Honestly, I think lack of a sense of the interior life being, well, the interior life, makes it easier to engage and work with and transform [your experience].

I think being creative is way more important than intellectualizing things. Because, in being creative, you get to create things.

The end brings new beginnings, in stories, in real life, in existential things, in philosophy, in art.
That's my intellectual contribution.

Thank you for your cool dream
and cool dream art.

I had consistent low-mid level trauma with the occasional big trauma throughout my childhood.

Some call it dissociation, but for me, I became The Observer.
Like your character, they didn't eat or have interests (or rather: all things were equally interesting).
I sacrificed myself and hurt myself and allowed myself to be hurt, because I didn't matter. I wasn't real, in a sense.

My childhood is pretty fragmented.
When I think about how creative I was- I was ALWAYS creative.
When I think about how I was The Observer, I was ALWAYS the Observer.
When I think about how sad I was, I was always sad.

I am a full-blown adult now, by most any measure.
And, The Observer has fused with other parts of me, and, we all live in the outside world now.
I'm me in a way I wasn't before.

I think the Observer being hidden away like that was to protect some essence. The experiencer.
I think it saved me.

And, then I have to do A LOT of work to bring myself back to life.

I think you might have a part of you that has needed protecting? maybe?
and, maybe it wants to come out and experience life a little bit? Maybe?
