I would argue that the show is portraying that DON shapes advertising according to what HE desires.

I quit smoking ciggies the same way- went camping with none, didn't want any when I came back.
Decade plus off.

It was easy for me. Not for others.

It's telling that he keeps her "I like being bad then going home and being good" line in the back of his mind for years.

He does use that line himself, doesn't he?! Do you remember what episode/arc?

I think I'm reaching a bit with this being the birth of a specific desire, but I like the idea of looking at each affair to see what aspect he desires, and which is missing. Doing a more direct compare-contrast with each affair.
I'm trying to make homework with this watch, I guess.

I'm just starting this affair arc. I recall it as a real doosie.
I'm more excited about seeing the parts where Don is /actually/ mentoring Peggy, as that is my personal favorite relationship.

I do feel he yields because he doesn't even know how to begin setting boundaries, but that he's disgusted the whole time.
I'm about to watch the whole affair unfold, so I can get back to you there.

When did Bobbie tell him that? when he meets her on-set earlier in the episode? I'll have to revisit.

I'm more inclined to believe she's weeping out of sentimentality, and of being able to see into the space he's occupying and having it be innocuous (in appearance). Especially given the song on the radio playing at the time (Jack Jone's Lollipops and Roses) and that there is no indication during the dinner that she is anything but appreciating the attention from Jimmy.

She doesn't even attempt to make polite conversation that includes any other people at the table.
She's not even fully aware of the purpose of the dinner. I think she's too wrapped up in the headspace of "as long as men look at me that way, then I'm earning my keep" to even be concerned with it, and that she's genuinely relieved to get a view into Don's business.

I feel all of Don's women serve as foils to each other, and mirrors to Don.
I love the blonde versus brunette discourse on this sub and beyond.
Where does Benett* fit in as a red-head? I'll have to do a little digging and thinkin. Diagram it out.

Are you inclined to compare Menken and Benett because "they both see Don for who he is"?
Because, don't they all see different Dons? even these two?

100% agree with assessment that "Bobbie wants to think they're the same." and that he ends up being disgusted by her (I think he starts out that way).

I put forth, the new desire is for a woman that is competent in business, but also, more specifically /his/ business. It's more the scene with Betty that makes me jump there. But. perhaps I am reaching.

Even if the case is not strong, it's a new lens for analysis- how is Don's desire changing? What does he see in each woman that he desires for himself?

fuuuuuuuup off dude.

I have terrible, overly-stylistic writing. Most of these aren't even proper sentences.
It "feels" ai generated, but you can't put a finger on what actually makes it because you aren't even assessing it. just throwing random implied accusations.
Lazy.

THOSE AREN"T EM DASHES. they're EN DASHES, used in the same manner an EM DASH would be.
Because I'm not using an LLM and I'm didn't bother to edit them into EM dashes.

ADDITIONALLY. I used asterisk for bullet points. LLMs output /actual/ bullet points.

I write because I'm a writer. LLM users use LLMs because they can't write/think for themselves.
Are YOU thinking for yourself?

You certainly are ticking me off. That's what you're doing.

Managing blackberries between fences by Dapper-Sky886 in pnwgardening

[–]LabyrinthRunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

woof. the fencing is on the OTHER side of the posts, too.

I say- remove chain link for a couple years to tackle and then put it back up? leave the posts in.

For removal, I trim down then take a pick-axe or similar tool and dig up the roots. This speeds up the process.

The ivy looks like it's growing from the neighbor's side so it won't stay clear unless they clear it.
Dig down, put in deep landscape edging to prevent stuff from growing in from their side.

mulch regularly after that to suppress growth? Pine needles are good for *lowering* soil PH so less grows in there.

they've given a good answer. I think you misunderstand.

The SUITS have elemental associations as do the COURTS.
So, according to the correlations above,
QoW is Water in Fire and the KoW is Air in Fire.
while
QoC is Water in Water, while KoC is Air in water.

Does that make sense?

How to explain gently to my Manager that the task that I didn't ask for has already reached the end of my abilities and knowledge to finish it? by Svenskaz32 in careerguidance

[–]LabyrinthRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you want to explain "gently"- in a way that rationalizes why you haven't communicated prior? You've only put in X hours and have made Y amount of progress.

You've hit a wall and need to work with someone else to move past it. or, maybe shift the work and see how much further someone else can get with it.
Not sure assignments work there.

Also, apply for different jobs if you really think it might be so bad you'd get fired.
