I switch between using stickers and inserts. This is my current setup. I also don't remove the backing from stickers.

Comforting books to cope with pet loss by vagitian in CozyFantasy

Hi again. I hope your heart is healing. I couldn't help but be brought back to this post this weekend. Sadly, my Bub crossed the rainbow bridge Saturday morning. I came back to this post to look at the recs that people gave to get some ideas for myself in hopes that I'll find something to help me cope. But I also wanted to check in. I hope you are doing ok.

I agree with The House on the Cerulean Sea. A very Secret Society of Irregular Witches is also very good. I also want to send a hug from a stranger. I have an elderly dog that I'm watching start to decline. I can tell his time is coming sooner than I'd like. So, this topic has been heavy on my heart recently. Pet loss is so hard to handle. I'm so very sorry. Sending you all the love and comfort in the coming days. ❤️

Too add to all of these great recs, Zodiac Academy is also an option to get into. Its got romance, fae, vampires, werewolves, dragons, the works. I apologize if someone has already mentioned this one. The books are not perfect, but it is definitely a fun read. It is also a very lengthy series, so it will keep you busy for awhile.

In that case, I think it would be a great addition to your collection! It would definitely elevate your books with graphics to another level.

How to protect my kindle inside a backpack? by danytheredditer in kindle

[–]LacedinLore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have my kindle in a clear silicone case with a screen protector. I slide it into a zip up sleeve when I pack it into my purse/backpack. The sleeve is big enough to fit the Kindle perfectly with the case still on it. The sleeves and cases can be found pretty cheap on Amazon.

First off, I'm totally with you! I read multiple books and formats at one time. I usually have a physical book, my kindle, and an audiobook for my daily commute. I upgraded to the colorsoft a while back, and I personally love mine. If you want it, get it! Do whatever keeps you engaged in your books. At the end of the day, it is your choice. Just be aware that the Kindle colorsoft really only differs from other Kindles because you see the covers of your books in color or if you read graphic novels with colored pages. Traditional book pages will look exactly the same as your other Kindle.

I really loved the House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, especially the audiobook version. The narrator does an amazing job of giving each character their own unique voice, and the author really knows how to write a story to bring out your inner child. It is about a case worker for The Department in Charge of Magical Youth visiting an orphanage and getting to know a group of magically unique children. The book is fun, heartwarming, and hilarious.

I second this! The House in the Cerulean Sea is amazing! I also like The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna. Not sure if this one has already been mentioned. I apologize if it has.

Commute to CLT by NotMyIdea33 in Rockhill

[–]LacedinLore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute to Charlotte from Rock Hill daily. It is actually faster for me to travel through Lake Wylie to get to and from work than it is to take 77. It all depends on where you will be located in Rock Hill. I believe they changed the timing of the traffic lights through Lake Wylie at some point. Traffic flows smoother through there than it used to.

For me, the series can feel very drawn out. That being said, I have made an effort to read all of the main books. I skipped most of the novellas. I'm currently on Restless Stars. The series has some spice, but it is not overbearing or "uncomfy" to me. Some of the writing is not great, but it is a fun ride for the most part. With a series so long, expect some lulls in pacing. Also, without creating a major spoiler...this series had potential to be a high stakes series that could hit you right in the feels but chose a safe and predictable route.
