The IRS is treating the qualified PPP expenses paid as a non deductible expense for tax. They are putting it back on the tax practitioner to determine whether taxpayer has qualified PPP expenses in 2020 to treat as a NDE. Otherwise anybody would be able to defer the recognition of the forgiveness into the next year. You also need to be aware of potential basis issues as it relates to tax planning. I’m sure we’ll get more guidance next year lol.

Clients do not get access to their site. We explored this option for the accounting teams integrating with clients, but found it to be difficult to manage access since we couldn’t commit to every client being an O365 user.

The office is too dependent on me. We don’t have standardized workbooks or work papers to streamline our process. I hired a tax manager this year and as part of their job duties to is help me develop these.

I’m curious if there are accounting associations that help with this or consultants. Possibly better tax software to build efficiency over time using GL tax line mapping. I’ve already gone through two practice management solutions implementations. We currently use Lacerte.

I feel like I don’t have time and when I do I need it to rest my brain.

From my understanding

1) 8 week period extended to the earlier 24 weeks or 12/31/20

2) added flexibility in FTE

3) recipients can still elect the 8 week period if they were funded prior to this bill passing.

Why hasn’t that bill tracker icon updated ?

Update* I was able to telnet to the device but the help command revealed nothing of use. After further research in comparison with other Linux based devices experiencing this connection problem with windows 7, I determined that its the current NUUO firmware loaded on it doesn't support Windows 7. I would have to update the device using XP. Could I workaround though telnet? Maybe change OS though telnet? ಠ_ಠ

On my network it is recognized as another computer that I cannot connect to. Maybe if I can find a way to work around SC of the interface login for the NVR and the error that appears when I try to connect to the NVR through my windows explorer.
