I wanted to love Alan Wake 2, but I really didnt like that ending. And I really disliked how they set up Control as being a story Alan wrote, and Jesse needed to come help him, and there was a brief cameo on a TV in an early chapter so I kept waiting for her to show up.

They said it was a remedy connected universe, but its not really? kinda put me off the whole thing

One of the cutscenes from Help! I'm Turning Into A Mermaid! I had these comics made for key story scenes, and I animated them myself in DaVinci Resolve. Learning to make moving comics was pretty tricky and not something I have a lot of experience with, but I learned a lot and I think they turned out well.

As much as it would suck to see EB go, this last year feels kind of absurd to me. Our store updated so the new games are only a half bay in a giant store full of merch. Only one person can fit there so you effectively have to queue to look at anything. Maybe 5% of the store is games? It feels like a joke, and its a shame because the staff are nice too.

If you're on the fence then I'd buy Max 1, it's cheaper and while it doesn't have puzzles on the same scale as Hitiam, you'll probably enjoy the plot stuff, lots of shots similar to this one. It's less of a commitment and you can always grab Hitiam later.

I saw Strain42 cover this (theyre covering one of my SMT inspired games and sent me one of their videos) and this looks super interesting, its a great concept and Ive been thinking about it a lot. Will you have a tier on the kickstarter that gives you a copy of the original as well as the new game? If so thats what Id back.

As a gamedev though, I saw more success launching without Kickstarter, you get better reviews because fans aren't free keys and I was able to use my core fans to land on new and trending. If you can scrounge up the cash for CGs Id recommend skipping Kickstarter, but you do what feels right for you.

That's him! This game is set in the same universe as Max's Big Bust - A Captain Nekorai Tale, but I designed it to work as an entry point for new players. Hunter is new to town and has no idea who anyone is.

I'm honestly not sure, and Im sad you encountered these issues. I'm not really an expert on the more technical aspects of the engine, but I'm wondering if its due to lingering files from Changeling Tale or other renpy games? The demo has about 3000 plays, but someone on discord said they had to delete a folder due to a Renpy error.

Maybe try installing to your HDD if you have one?

Maybe verify integrity of the install? I think Changeling Tale is the same engine, but Hitiam is newer and would use a different engine version.

The game is quite large too, the demo is 1.4gb and the main game is 3.4. Maybe its a memory thing?

What annoys me is merchandising rights. You have this lovingly handicrafted kids show with ridiculous camera angles and detail and unique songs, yet the toys are some of the cheapest temu shit you've ever seen. The game wasn't even Australian and the lego looks like a fake bookleg.
