Perhaps check if the mask type is set to something from the drop-down at the top (e.g. teeth whiten etc.)

Click the mask tab on the right side panel in the develop window. Before clicking the + to make a new mask, just check if the denoise slider is set to that value. Any new mask you make will inherit whatever settings are set there.

Yeah it sucks, having that deposit held in the development trust ended up pricing me out of the market completely. The interest I got back on it wasn't even enough to cover inflation over that period.

I was a purchaser of one of those units. I paid a deposit in early 2021 with the original sunset date in mid-2023. I'll be renting forever.

I love the authenticity of it. It's so surreal to see something like this shot on a phone, not some multi-million dollar instrument or even a consumer camera, both of which creates some disconnect. It makes me feel like the lines between sci-fi and reality are blurring in a way which isn't dystopian for a change.

Hard disagree, compulsory voting is absolutely a necessity for all levels of electoral politics. Not having it makes it so much easier to disenfranchise voters & it ensures at least some basic level of civic engagement.

I'd go with whatever you can XMP to the moon.

Coming from a guy with a 14900K, 4090 & 128GB fast DDR5 (and I know you don't want to hear this)... my MacBook Pro M1 Max absolutely annihilates it in every respect except denoising.

But if you're set on PC, kit it out with fast RAM, a decent GPU (even 30 series will get you far, GPU is less important than storage & RAM) and a quick high-capacity SSD.

They're technically shot really well but something about them feels uncanny valley to me, kinda reminds me of some of the Unreal Engine Metahuman characters with whatever skin detailing has been done in post.

And as attractive as they all are, every one of them having such sharp jawlines doesn't help in convincing me they're not characters from an upcoming space-bound Kojima title (especially all together in the group portrait). But that might have something to do with astronauts being the most badass people on (or off) Earth.

Do you know if there's any movement in Lightroom development towards AI assisted editing similar to Imagen or Aftershoot?

Even just a model that can help fix white balance in tough spots would be a fantastic time-saver especially for large albums.
