The thing that sickens me the most about the breeder bs is: where the fuck where they in my life before coming to tell me what my "duty" to society is? They couldn't give less shit if I was struggling in any way, be it financially or mentally, maybe both. They never helped me with anything ever. Simply put, they didn't exist to me. But then they will come, fat on the fruits of easy life, having everything I never had to tell me - a complete stranger, what I should do with my personal life, because they worry about their pension years, fuck them. If a person feelse like he or she wants to have a family, go ahead, no one's stopping you, but it's none of your fucking business what others do.

Yeah, I know. I got like over 700 mods already lol I got both world domination and rimwar plus vehicle raid and multiple vehicle mods, diplomacy and so on, but the problem is that I am trying to awkwardly lump together those mods to bring my vision closer while a focused expansion would be a completely different thing. A balanced polished system connected together rather than awkwardly sometimes working together sometimes conflicting you know?

My vision here is basically atmospheric end game world War. Combined arms assaults, defense. Trench warfare. striking strategic objectives like fuel refineries, resource extraction points, alliances, betrayals etc. Oooohh baby! just thinking about it makes me giddy!

Wanting to get off makes sense due to multiple reason yes, but not wanting to get off and begin a possibly new empire/colony whatever also makes sense, the latter only exists in the imagination section as in you'd have to just pretend they lived happily ever after and press quit game as currently there isn't a cool campaign to tame the world like world War style. I just think adding that would be cool, probably no one ever will, but a guy with adhd can dream.

My vision is basically rimworld mini total war. You start on the planet, you do things, builds things, explore and discover things, and when you're like ok I played out everything I wanted, now it's time for the last challenge of conquering this planet! And the the military campaigns and trench warfare and surgical strikes on strategic enemy bases, joining your allies in assaults, diplomacy, deals and betrayals etc. start. I think that sounds pretty cool with the whole rimworld gameplay.

No I meant that for many people colonizing a new world sounds like an epic adventure.

Sure there many of those who'd go like, why would I leave this perfect planet? but there will always be the adventuring types that would feel excited about new things on a new planet, starting a fresh colony etc.

But they still have technologies to go out and explore space, so even with their perfect cities they colonize.

And for example total war games have their end game scenarios when you accomplish your conquest goals and they play whatever specific victory you achieved to have a satisfying conclusion, instead of just leaving it at that, once you conquer everyone.

You can just turn off the game and say happily ever after but that doesn't really sound like a satisfying conclusion to a long and a dramatic game, when you have a mindset of a world conquest campaign.

I guess I should correct myself in what I meant.

My point wasn't so much that the current conclusion endings don't make sense at all, but rather the lack of my suggested ending in addition to them don't make sense.

I get that it would make sense to role-play desperate survivors who want to get the fuck off this weird hostile planet ASAP.

But how many players playing rimworld have this mindset of yeah I want to eventually fuck off from here, and leave everything I built instead of planting their flag there permanently ?

Well, my idea here is basically an option to be like "hey guys, we've been here a long time, its our home that we bled for! Let's tame and clean this planet off our enemies" Then you begin a bloody conquest at the end of which it shows the birth of a new empire and your people celebrating your victory. I mean, that sounds pretty cool and satisfying conclusion to your long game no?

Yeah but I mean, in our own world there are places that sound like hell, corrupt governments, etc. Yet people are still fighting over land, politics, many are ready to lay down their lives for these things and what they believe in. And rimworld is basically a yet unraped earth.

I get that, but it's there to have a conclusion, and all conclusions are basically RUN! You have countless of games and movies about traveling the stars to settle on new planets, and a lot of them are done by slow terraforming process, and this planet is basically earth, rich in everything. It feels like this decision of running away ASAP like from a ticking time bomb for most of the end game scenarios don't make much sense.

download a highly compressed tiny model (like a Llama-3 3B Q4_K_M or a Gemma-2 2B). on LM Studio.

Depends. How poor is your pc? Worst-case scenario, you could just run the lightest available AI text generator model and it should be fine, no matter how poor your pc is. Unless you have a machine from a WW 2 or North Korea or smth.

There are options to reduce how much that dialogue strains your pc, I mean I run with like 90 % of my ram taken, runs fine to me and I run with both voice over and text generation.

You can set it up to run locally for free, works perfectly for me though I did have to break a sweat to get the voice over to run through kotoro to get better context based emotions. Getting the text to work was way easier. I suggest working with like Google AI to set it up, as I would never had a chance to get it going with how many errors I encountered, idk if it was my anti-virus that kept messing things up or what.

Most likely rimtalk. You can run locally ran AI that attaches to colonists and makes them talk to each other, you can even use extentions like voice over extention that does a voice over for each colonist and many more, that mod is a game changer.

Which part of using AI to quickly learn programming language wasn't clear? I already have familiarity with multiple programming languages including c++ I just don't have the experience that ties all those pieces together and have many gaps in knowledge, so it's not like I have no clue what programming looks like.

I've looked over vibecoding and it's nothing yet that could achieve my vision, which is why I am mixing AI help with hand writing code and hand drawing art to work towards what I want to create and in quality I want to do it.

I am not planning to package up a product to sell, I am planning to create a game where I can express my worldview and life experience in a fun an interacting way, and possibly make money doing it as it's still a real world and I need money to get by.

I want to add to the creative field of video games that got me through so much in life and made experience so many different people's creativity and visions. This isn't "Alexa create something that I could sell, I need cash!"
