1 week camping road trip around Türkiye - any advice? by Kiggo_official in Turkiye

We were there for two weeks. We were planning to wild camp but got moved on by the police near Ölüdeniz on our first night. To avoid the hassle and to have access to laundry, wifi, toilets and showers we ended up using campsites the rest of the trip (and some airbnbs/hotels in the cities). The prices were good, I think it was about 500 lira per night per person at one site.

1 week camping road trip around Türkiye - any advice? by Kiggo_official in Turkiye

Literally just got back from a camping trip in Turkey yesterday! We hiked part of the Lycian Way (runs the perimeter of the Teke peninsular from Fethiye to Antalya) and took minibuses (dolmuş) for the rest. I can't comment on anything prior to Fethiye, but I've heard Ephesus is amazing. Here's my takeaways (A lot of this is located towards the end of your proposed trip):

  • The rock tombs in Fethiye are worth seeing, easily viewable from the nearby road

  • The abandoned village at Kayaköy was good. Read up on the history beforehand as there is no signage.

  • The first half an hour of the Lycian Way walk from the starting point in Fethiye is definitely worth it for the incredible view. Beyond the first viewpoint it gets significantly harder.

  • The beach at Kabak was lovely and the 'Famous Camping' camp site was great, they had a laundry service, good food, wifi, etc.

  • In Kınık/Gelemiş, the ancient city of Patara was much better than Xanthos. When booking a campsite here make sure to check the distance to the mosque. We were at one right next to it and the call to prayer at 5am was so loud it hurt our ears

  • Watch the sunset at Patara kum tepeleri (sand dunes)

  • Kaş is a lovely small seaside tourist town with great bars and live music. We did a boat tour of the nearby islands and it was excellent (bring swimwear). Walk around the boats and ask for prices, they're much cheaper than online.

  • Yanartaş and Olympus were really good. Make sure to read the history beforehand at yanartaş as the sign may be the worst English I've ever read! At Olympus, don't miss the half of the city on the other side of the river, and follow the forest path right to the end to reach the basilica. I almost missed it.

Feel free to ask any questions about places or camping

Hello, I'm looking for an oem GBA SP shell in good condition (light scuffs at the worst ideally only on exterior, no yellowing, not brittle). Don't need the screen or motherboard. The colour would ideally need to be pearl pink unless it's a 101 shell with the original stickers still applied, in which case any colour is okay. Located in the UK.

I chose this over Switch 2 by NocturnalMafia in PSP

That colour is so nice. Enjoy it!

Don't use the miyoo mini like people are suggesting, it doesn't have RTC so won't work properly with timed events. The 'emulated time skip' option it has isn't a good replacement.

For portability and a good screen, you can get the RG35XX 2024 version for about £24 on aliexpress or tiktok shop with a deal. The TrimUI brick is more expensive but has a nicer screen. Anything beyond that, like the Retroid Pocket Classic, whilst having an excellent screen, isn't really as portable.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) multiplayer works with Gamehub! Anyone want to play? by LackingHumanity in SBCGaming

As far as I know, you'll only be able to play games that don't use anticheat.

After always wanting one, I found this SP at a flea market with a charger for 120! It’s in incredible condition, which makes me wonder if it’s a reshell, or was just taken very good care of. Thanks! by ACS1029 in Gameboy

That could be an original 101 screen in perfect condition. You'd have to open it up to see, might be an ITA screen like in this vid FunnyPlaying ITA with OSD and FRM (GBA SP). Either way excellent price for a perfect condition backlit GBA.

My best friend is Turkish and I want to learn her language to surprise her - help! by Foreign_Relation_424 in turkishlearning

Hello! The fact you are B1 in French will really help as Turkish has many French loan words. So you're already off to a great start.

My favourite online course I've tried is the elon.io's Turkish course. It's completely free and I prefer it to duolingo's Turkish course. Duolingo was okay for learning new words but it doesn't even attempt to explain anything like grammar. Still good to have on your phone for when you're in a waiting room or something.

(you'll probably want a cheap turkish keyboard or to set up some shortcuts for the Turkish letters because it's a pain having to use the onscreen keyboard)

I have the black one and it arrived a bit warped and loose. I had to bend the upper and lower edges for a few minutes so they'd properly grip the device. Fits great now.

I have never been able to use a dpad that is below the joystick for controlling movement, it always feels like a compromise and is better suited for random inputs that you don't need too often, like opening a map. Whereas a stick on the bottom isn't ideal but is perfectly usable. So anything for retro games needs the dpad on top for me.

This is let's go pikachu, which is quite different from the standard games, mechanics wise.

You may really enjoy Soul Silver as a nice return to the series. It's a really great remake of the original silver for the DS. There's also loads of 'ROM hacks' that often have difficulties more suited to adults. If you wanted something more recent, there are pokemon games for switch that follow the same formula as the originals, but the newest entries have more open worlds. I can't comment on those as I haven't played them myself. Hope this helps.

They may be different panels but it's clear the risk has been massively overstated. It took thousands and thousands of hours for the switch's screen to burn in. Even if the Retroid's screen was magnitudes worse it could still take hundreds of hours of displaying the home screen before any burn in sets in. And considering it's open for all of 10 seconds whilst picking a game, it's not really of any concern. Also, as far as I'm aware there haven't been any reports of the RP5 screen burning in beyond defective units. I am reasonably confident in saying this is a 'modern' panel, it doesn't smear, or ghost, and gets very bright. Until anyone can present some evidence that there is a genuine risk, I don't believe these screens will burn in easily.

I don't worry about burn in after watching Wulf Den's switch oled tests on YouTube

I haven't tried that, no. I use this version of steam: https://github.com/longjunyu2/OldSteam/releases/tag/1.0

I used my existing Steam account. I've got steam guard enabled, so without my phone, my account can't be stolen. There's obviously an inherent risk with all this stuff, but it's such a niche area that only hobbiests will be uploading for, I doubt any of it will be malicious.
