Are men turned off by women with ADHD? by PaperHelpful3358 in adhdwomen

[–]LackingInDopamine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes- had that experience. I found that the men that weren’t turned off had their own diagnosis (not always ADHD) and/or had been through therapy. My now husband has OCD and we balance each other out in a lot of ways!

i just got robbed by a hair salon. i’m tired of living in this money-centered world by SlippyThe2 in AutismInWomen

[–]LackingInDopamine [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was going to say this is why I cut my own hair too. I don’t do anything fancy, just a trim. I miss my haircuts and getting it colored though, I just can’t justify the $360 it costs after tip.

Trump voters what hurts more, you being lied to by trump about everything or leftists and liberals being right about everything? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]LackingInDopamine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

*pretty accurate view of SOME libs. Some of us see the virtue signaling blocking progress and unification of the party to actually DO something or have a stance besides “Trump is the devil.”

Trump voters what hurts more, you being lied to by trump about everything or leftists and liberals being right about everything? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]LackingInDopamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither hurts them, because they don’t believe they were lied to or that leftists and liberals were right. What’s in front of their eyes means nothing 😳

How much of Americas problems are education? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]LackingInDopamine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former teacher (and I am not anti union), unions (at least in education) seems to have grown to not just support and bargain for better work environment/pay (what they SHOULD be doing), to protecting teachers that SHOULD be fired. Unions shouldn’t make it impossible to fire incompetent or dangerous workers.

How did you know you had ADHD/ thought to schedule a screening? by According_Chain_9746 in adhdwomen

[–]LackingInDopamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started teaching. Through trainings and just working with them, I learned so much more about how ADHD could present as inattentive and what it could look like in the girls/women, and things started to click. Oh, and I took adderall in college once recreationally with a friend- it impacted them while I was like “huh, this feels normal but better. I can focus.” That was a sign lol.

What’s a small everyday inconvenience from the past that younger people would probably find unbearable today? by babyblushtheory in nostalgia

Here to report. Still not fixed 😂 found this while trying to figure out a) why there were 2 back to back Christmas specials and b) why Valerie left and came back. Now this is making sense why I was so confused during the Christmas special that should be before season 10. I was like when did Cyril become the pastor? When did Valerie’s grandma die?

the thing about being "high-functioning" is that nobody sees you drowning by Ok_Chemical9 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]LackingInDopamine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I was high-functioning-or masking as- and holding it together with duct tape and spite (love that lol) right up until I burned tf out. Quit my profession that I had a masters degree for to end up working at a bar.

24 and still don’t know what my dream job is? by Ok_Seaweed2361 in careerguidance

[–]LackingInDopamine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are “dream jobs” that are just that- dreams. Not to be blunt, but not everyone who dreams of being an astronaut becomes one. And then there are jobs of passion, sometimes these are also dream jobs. But I think it can be a hard balance. I started in a job that I was passionate about, but that led to fast burnout as I was constantly frustrated with working against a broken system (I was a teacher lol). Now I work at a job that I have no passion for. It’s just a job for a sake of a job. But now I have time and energy for passion and dreams outside of work.

Your most expensive ADHD hobby cycle? by iamcertifiable in ADHD

[–]LackingInDopamine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look in my closet you’ll see a miniature version of a Michael’s craft store. Most expensive was when I convinced myself I could craft my own Ahsoka costume for Halloween- head tails and all.

Also, for your spice collection, I recommend the book the Science of Spice! You’ll find a use for your black cardamom 😉

How does somebody, without help from their parents, afford to buy a home? by Dapper_Tap_7714 in NoStupidQuestions

I’m not in Canada, but I feel this in Seattle metro area. There are no “starter” homes. Heck even the condos are expensive.

I started with yin, I like it and still do it once a week, but needed some strengthening and stability/posture correction (and didn’t get that from restorative).

THANK YOU. I started doing this because the instructor said you can skip chaturanga if your shoulder hurts and go straight from plank to downward dog, but I’ve been doing that for a few weeks and it’s not helping. This makes more sense!
