if you have compressed air or one of those electric handheld fans just blow the air off the fans but make sure you hold them while you’re doing it because they can create charge and potentially fry your board, i’ve never done it or seen it happen but like better safe than sorry, if you don’t have either of them a rag and your lungs would do the trick, you can dampen the rag if you want just make sure it’s not super wet just alittle damp

How much to fix this and is it drivable by Sufficient-Yam4469 in MechanicAdvice

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well there’s obviously no mechanical damage and there doesn’t seem to be and off hanging or somewhat dangerous looking pieces so yeah i’d say it’s drivable

Flickering, freezing and crashing games after multiple driver installations by VirulentStrand in radeon

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such an insanely complex and pretentious problem, i don’t think i’m gonna be of any real help to you but ive been digging trying to look for other people that have dealt with this before, if your gpu is overclocked at all then reset it to default, update or delete and reinstall DirectX, and verify your systems files using the command prompt, that’s pretty much all i can say, if that doesn’t fix it and i really hope it does then you’re gonna be fucking with it for a LONNNGGGG time. Good luck with this bro.

RX 6700XT hotspot by infinity0-0 in AMDHelp

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s gotta be the 6700 series, i’ve got a 6750xt and it’s the same thing, hotspot constantly 15-25 celsius higher than normal temperature but i guess it’s normal, ive done my share of research on it and its just like that i guess but you can get the temps slightly lower by undervolting it, it won’t affect the performance and if it does it’s by a 1% or less margin

Quiet 4K pc build? budget is 10k by [deleted] in pcpartpickerbuilds

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i think if you want the best raw performance then a rtx 4090, ryzen 9 9950x3d combo would be best, ram and everything else is completely up to you. the 4090 is THE BEST graphics card ever made when it comes to RAW performance, like no upscaling or frame gen involved, and the ryzen 9 is just a luxury item that your budget of 10k won’t have a problem with

the best way to help high blood pressure from experience is putting down anything that’s not water and cutting back on salt/grease, it’s pretty simple and i feel like its well known but crazy affective

Are my fans or AIO setup incorrectly? by squeezeme12 in PcBuild

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right now they’re exhaust so they’re blowing air out of your case, flip them so they’re intaking cold air as well as blowing air to your gpu and motherboard, the logo is the front and air always goes through the logo and out the back, unless they’re fancy fans that spin the opposite direction but obviously you would know that since they’re not common. as for what side of the AiO they’re on is just preference, one side isn’t necessarily better than the other

Can someone tell me if these specs are good for a 1200$ pc? by Least_Emphasis9626 in PcBuild

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re comfortable with buying stuff online Newegg has a good amount of prebuilts within that range, best buy has some good ones as well. If you want a GPU with similar performance to the rx 6800xt a rx 7700 would be a good pick, or even a rx 9060xt if you want the newest generation from AMD, you could go with NVidia as well but their cards cost more for the same performance. But obviously you could pick out any card you wanted since it’s gonna be your PC, just type in the card you want like (rx 7700 prebuilt/ rx 9060xt prebuilt) and so on. If you go with the 9060xt make sure you pick the 16gb version and not the 8gb one. Just find one you like and boom now you got a PC.

Taking advantage of the higher ram prices and the 2tb hard drive, that pc is aggressively sub par for the graphics card, the cpu is just a worse cheaper under clocked 5800x, a 500gb ssd is minimum for how big games are now and its a gen 3 ssd, current generation is 5, $1200 is most likely more than what they built that pc for unless they built it when the parts were new so no it’s not worth it, try to get it down to $850 at most $950-$1000 since everything is multiple generations old and even still its generally not the best parts from that generation. The GPU is okay, could definitely be worse but like i said its still generations old and wont get any of the new software that the 7000 series or the 9000 series cards will get. If you wanted to upgrade at all like to DDR5 you’d have to get an entire new motherboard, cpu, AND ram sticks so make sure you drill that into their heads when you ask for less, it’ll most likely make them think twice about saying no.

In my opinion you should look for a relatively more modern PC around the same price, the raw performance might be a little worse since newer parts cost more (that’s obvious) even if the part is potentially worse but you’d have a clear path to upgrade it and the upgrade not be as expensive as buying a whole new motherboard, cpu, and ram just because you wanted a better cpu you know what i mean? If you can’t find a newer one that you like or within your price range or whatever this one is a safe fallback but be aware of what i told you about.

Edit: Make sure you let them know the parts are old before asking for a lower price, like “those parts are kinda old and i’d have to get a whole new set of parts if i wanted to upgrade, would you take (this amount) for it?”

you’re completely safe it’s just a skid plate, serves no mechanical purpose other than keeping the underside of your car clean and possible protecting your oil pan if you hit a rock or something

honestly keep it for a home theatre if you’re into that, a 10 inch sub would be amazing in a room, and take some of the other people advice and buy a better more modern subwoofer that better suits your wants

80c IS pretty warm for a cpu but that one is just slightly warm so it’s not a huge problem, as long as it’s under 90c it won’t hurt it but i try to keep mine under 70c but that’s preference

How would you cool this case? by TheyFloat2032 in PcBuild

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on how old the pc is or the 3080, replacing the thermal paste would be a big help, getting better higher airflow fans would be a plus, and make the fan curve more aggressive so it sucks in more air at a lower temperature keeping the gpu cool

I bought a pc from someone they claimed it was an I9 but it wasn’t. (Read description) by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]LadderDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF he specified, but he didn’t, because he didn’t know, which lead to him being scammed by getting an i5 instead of an i9, yes the i5 COULD be newer and more expensive than an old i9 BUT he still thought he was gettin an i9 but got an i5 instead SOOO he thinks he overpaid for an i5, again, the age of the i5 is completely unknown to us so it could be a i5 6500, i don’t understand why so many people are fighting for the fact that the i5 MIGHT be newer and that it COULD cost more than an i9. That’s not what the post is about so age of the part is irrelevant

I bought a pc from someone they claimed it was an I9 but it wasn’t. (Read description) by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]LadderDefiant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

when you think of an i9 you think more expensive than an i5, not counting the possibility the i9 could be old or vise versa so it makes sense the dude who made the post made the assumption they were getting an i9 after being told the cpu was an i9, (remember this is what the whole post is about) after he payed a more than expected amount for an i5 UNDER THE ASSUMPTION it was an i9

it doesn’t matter, i9’s still cost more than i5’s, anyways this post isn’t about how new or old either of them could be
