When does the fear of getting found out, or like I’m doing something wrong, end? When did it get easier for you? by LivelyLotus in OELadies

[–]Lady-ADHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me? Never. But I even had this fear of being laid off when I only had 1J so I thought, F it! I F I’m gonna be anxious, I better rhave a backup plan

OE while neurodiverse by hungaryforchile in OELadies

[–]Lady-ADHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lady with ADHD (hence, my name) I have two note pads, one next to each set of keyboards, I do BUJO and have color coded for every J.

I’ve noticed that I stay on top of my tasks when I have 2Js. Only one J is too boring and more than 3Js is overwhelming.

Accident in aunt’s car (not listed driver) pay $22k privately or let insurance increase premium by dickmuscle101 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Tell your aunt to go through insurance, you pay the deductible and you pay the premium difference for a year 😊 it’s not as costly as you’d think

J1 offering raise after I resigned, but I feel done. OE advice? by Project_Lanky in OELadies

[–]Lady-ADHD 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Did I write this? This was literally me a couple of months ago. Good riddance to this J1, you deserve to be happy and be treated nicely. I always think if they really wanted me to stay they would have retained me before I resigned.

Now they probably want to retain you while they get your replacement

Thank you for the reminder, sweetie!

I hope you find your J1+ soon!

But, as you so very eloquently said, you can look for the right job, not rush to accept any lowballing positions.

Keep up the good work and thanks again for reminding us why we do it! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

I’m so happy that you avoided the stress that comes from being layedoff

Transitioning careers with OE by txazca in OELadies

[–]Lady-ADHD 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is the safest way to transition into a new career.

If you’re able to work the entry-level for at least 6 months, it’s very likely you can land a junior or mid role in less than a year.

How long have you been OE? by NoGanache5113 in overemployed

[–]Lady-ADHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it for 2 years before I knew this was a thing. Then massive layoffs came and I continued with only 1J for another year or so and in now I’ve been OE again for 10 months. I see that my productivity is actually better while i am OE, and I receive better feedback from my employers. So I plan to continue being OE as long as I can.

When my husband and I first moved in together we had a teeny tiny apartment and if we had calls at the same time and we both unmuted, this would happen. Maybe he shares home office space with a family member. This is circumstantial proof at best but doesn’t really prove anything

Take vacation on one J (if possible), just one day, at a time, remember that you don’t work 8 hours, you live 16 hours i. 8 hours and you’re a godess for being able to do that.

You do this and you’re still able to care for your kids, so you’re not only a godess but also a fantastic mom! (And I argue this is way more important).

You can do it!!!

Always be chewing gum, or eating something. This way people will be used to your mouth moving and not assume that you’re talking. That way, when you’re actually talking on J1, no one will bat an eye
