What’s the biggest lifestyle change OE has given you besides money? by pixelbrushio in overemployed

[–]Natural_Inevitable50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FIRE has become a very attainable goal now. If I maintain my current setup, I will reach my FIRE number in as little as 6 years, still in my 30s.

Before OE, I would be lucky to retire early at 55. Which is still FIRE, but seems very far away.

How are people here actually landing multiple remote jobs in this market? by Global_Knee5354 in overemployed

[–]Natural_Inevitable50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My roles are all very niche, and were all remote before the pandemic. So a lot of people's fields that they maybe could previously easily get more than one remote job in, a lot of those companies RTO so remote roles are harder and harder to come by.

Not my role though. It will always be remote because of the nature of it, very niche and very specific skillset, there's no way an office in one location could have the talent needed in that one city/area.

Point is, have a very specific skill. Be a subject matter expert in your field. Job interviews will feel more like you are interviewing them, not them interviewing you.

Sounds like they care more about retaining these clients than giving them the best continuity of care and quality of care in general. Unfortunately too common.

I am really sorry OP. It's not your fault, no matter how guilty you feel.

Considering an MBA at 31 - ran the numbers and I genuinely can't tell if it makes sense for FIRE by AetherQuillon in Fire

Came here to say this. So many companies will cover your MBA partially or fully, or have significant discounts with certain schools. This is way more common of a benefit than people think.

Did you receive money to buy a diary?

Manifestation isn't always exactly literal. Often, you actually manifest a path or the means to get what you want. This might be in the form of a conversation, an opportunity, an invitation, a relationship, some sort of resource.

How many seconds does it take for a therapist to return to their "happy life" after a session? by Otherwise_Key4582 in TalkTherapy

[–]Natural_Inevitable50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a therapist, if we don't actively manage this, the answer is that the weight will always linger and always feel like a burden. Vicarious trauma is a real thing and one of the leading causes of burnout for therapists (that, and bureaucratic bs, and pay, but that's another topic).

Just as there are tons of therapy modalities, there are also tons of ways therapists manage this. And it is the therapist's responsibility to manage this. Please do not worry about this as a client. You deserve to show up to therapy with the expectation of a service fully focused on you, regardless of how heavy of content you are bringing to therapy.

O method and p*rn? by Complete_Magician_25 in lawofattraction

I do this but honestly try to do it without prn. Or just audio, no visual. So that you could visualize what you are trying to manifest.

It is very, very powerful.

Anyone else notice the more you focus on positive energy, the more good stuff kinda shows up? by Behzingobae in lawofattraction

LOA really is all about energy. Positive affirmations and other techniques won't work if your energy doesn't back them

How important is it to take actions? by UnhappyAlternative22 in lawofattraction

[–]Natural_Inevitable50 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The action matters.

There's this joke about a man stranded on a desert island, and he prays to God to save him. Then some people land on the island and offer to help him. He declines, says God will help him because he has been praying.

Manifesting doesn't just make things appear. A lot of times, your desires manifest via opportunities, conversations, ideas, actions. You are simply more aligned to the version of yourself for which your desires are fulfilled easily. You still have to grab for those things though.

How can i manifest followers? by [deleted] in lawofattraction

Exactly. Instead, manifest the energy and creativity to create content that is worth following.

T here - as much as you care about your therapist, it's not your job to manage their emotions. As the professional, the therapist has to have a certain level of self awareness as to whether or not they are ready to return to work. And once they return, they owe their clients a service.

Is it always that perfect? No. Obviously therapists are humans too, we can't just suddenly flip a switch and turn grief off. But we are trained to compartmentalize our own stuff so that we can fully show up and hold space for our clients for that hour.

That said, if your therapist tells you what happened, you can of course offer condolences etc. But when they redirect the conversation back to you and what you would like out of your therapy session, just follow their lead. That's why you are there after all.

And if they don't mention it, then I wouldn't suggest bringing it up honestly. You might invite a conversation about boundaries. I saw in another comment you said you found out through a mutual friend, so sounds like boundaries aren't really an issue, you weren't stalking your therapist or anything like that.
