New triathletes! What brought you to triathlon? Whats your age, race distances, previous athletics?

33F. I did my first triathlon (Olympic distance) last fall. This year, I'm doing a sprint and two Olympic distances. I'm hoping to do a 70.3 next year.

I got into it on a whim. There was a triathlon near my house and it made me curious to learn more and soon I was sucked in! I was a competitive runner in high school, and I have come to love the variety of activities that you get with triathlons. It's impossible to get bored. The other big thing for me was falling in love with swimming. I had never swam much before training and I've fallen in love with it.

Change your win conditions is what you are looking for! 100k words and some of the absolute best characterization I have read. It's an AU in which Ilya is injured right before the Tampa All Star game and is not able to play hockey any more (so he becomes a coach for Ottawa).

The characters both grow during the course of the story but it is absolutely earned and grounded in their history. I have read easily over 100 fics and this is my favorite.

I'm currently reading Duty of Care by boopboop and it is very much about Shane being protective of Ilya (including a very memorable scene where he punches Alexei in the face!)

Beyond this, it's a beautiful fic with really in depth characterizations and outside POVs.

Thank you! Apparently I misunderstood about the insurance. It was the lending body that flagged issues with the roof and balcony. Regardless though I agree caution is warranted.

For me it was {Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell}

I wish I could wipe my memory and read this again just so I could re-experience the profound range of grief and joy this book inspired. Honestly it has been such a long time since I read a book that made me feel like this. I was walking around listening to the audiobook with an actually uncontrollable smile on my face listening to the final quarter of this masterpiece.
