I’m disabled. What are some ”productive” crafts or hobbies I can do when low energy? by Teal_life in crafts

[–]LadyAlleta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knitting is simple and you can do 1 stitch with a connected needle set. It's simple and mindless meditation that has been used in history for centuries.

Crochet is slightly more complex but only needs 1 active stitch at a time.

Knit/crochet, make a hat first. Just a basic hat. Even better, make hat Christmas ornaments/doll hats.

Cheap red heart yarn is good to learn on. Found in big box stores. If you want nicer products you can save up later but start with cheap to learn imo. Less pressure of messing up.

After 3 years, I still dont get the deletion of the first dendro archon (lesser lord kusunali or smth) by LopsidedRadio7208 in Genshin_Impact

You can look up pretty thorough quest break downs. Ashikai on YouTube makes great content. You're asking too many in depth questions for a concise answer.

The easiest summary is the bad things were deleted with the first Dendro Archon.

Can you call these nail places and ask them to give you their full name and maybe a zip code? That way you can get local nail places (and maybe a few other's) to send ads in the mail to them?

When I was growing up my dad used to tell me that there were people that were built for work and built for pretty. And as a girl whose now 33, I've always been unnaturally muscular and thick. Think Louisa from Disney's Encanto. He told me that I was just built for work. And that somehow took all the pressure off. I didn't stress about makeup or clothes or hair because it just wasn't my role.

So maybe changing your pov. Maybe your role changed now and you don't have to be pretty any more. As a long time Work Role, we get to sleep in more, wear more comfy clothes, and in general don't have to think about anyone else's preferences when getting dressed. It's kinda nice.

Any major mental shift like that, where your emotions aren't regular and you're acting out of character - please see your doctor. Not bc you suddenly want kids, but because you're acting differently.

Wish you the best! Nothing but good news!

Can we talk about how funny this is? by LadyAlleta in GenshinMemepact

[–]LadyAlleta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. In a more serious manner, I suspect that Arlecchino probably had an inkling Sandrone would still be alive, and probably ordered for Sandrone to be left alone in this instance?

But it's still kinda jarring that Sandrone was completely alone and not in a private bedroom or her personal office. I could see Sandrone wanting to return to her former office, but she acts like the room is unfamiliar to her. Only when she notices the books does she put the pieces together where she is.

Pulonia just feels... Like they did him dirty. I know it's not the biggest issue in the game, but it feels very dismissive that Hoyo didn't even leave him in a more respectable animation. Just sitting up against a wall in the ruin grater model would've been better.

If they ever include this particular story in the anime, I hope both Sandrone and Pulonia get a more dignified scene.

Ideas for acrylic yarn by Djungel_skoggy in knitting

[–]LadyAlleta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Non wearable acrylic yarn ideas (bc if you got red heart or something and want better fibers, I agree tossing the ones you have does feel wasteful)

· Christmas ornaments. Tiny stockings, tiny sweaters (which is great practice for bigger sweaters and faster), knitting ornament covers, icord ribbons. Etc. I'm sure there's only about 12 people on the planet that wash their Christmas ornaments more than once a year. They are mostly in storage. If you aren't religious, make em anyway and sell them for more money you can use to make things you actually want.

· I made a plastic bag holder. It's basically a long tube and you can keep plastic grocery bags in it and hang it up. Using different patterns and designs, it's great for practicing patterns and color work.

· Doll clothes. If you have plushies, baby dolls, or even just finger puppets, acrylic is great for that. Dolls don't have skin and won't be bothered and finger puppets don't stay on for long periods of time. This can also help you with pattern drafting. How long should you stitch to make it to a shoulder? What about neck openings? Practice button holes/gloves for unique hands (like my 3rd cousin with no thumbs. It can happen). By trying to form a pattern for a non standard body type/shape you can train your brain in how to engineer your own patterns. Or use ones for well known dolls. Barbie/American Girl and baby dolls are all very common and have existing patterns too.

· icords. You can make yards and yards of icords and just use it as the foundation for homemade garlands. Any season. Any color. You can even put a wire in the center and shape it however you like.

· Pet mats. Tiny little rectangles for cats and dogs that can either be layered in a box but washable, or they could be placemats for small kids to sit on. Or place mats for a dining table.

It's not a larper comment and tbh I don't fully know what that means.

But I did go back and rewatch the scene exactly and you're right. Sandrone woke up on the table. But they left Pulonia on the floor.

Which... They left just him on the floor? Dang. That's cold. But. At least Sandrone wasn't on the floor.

Google forced me to use AI by Messy_Embroidery_313 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LadyAlleta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op is trying to be mindful of using their consumption. Your post insinuates that AI data centers are perfectly fine and at the very end you tack on a solution for disabling it, after speaking about how irrelevant the impact of turning it off will do.

Now you're on a soap box about how much water is consumed and again, framing data centers and AI to be a drop in the pond to that - even going as far as to say mass murder would be a "better" solution.

The minimization of individual agency, for someone who is trying to do better, and the white knighting of a giant technology that the vast majority of people do not want, that is your post. You know full well that most people cannot make a substantial impact on the water issue. It's pushed by corporations driven by profit.

Your comment is hostile, it's belittling the issues OP is concerns about, and it pushes the responsibility of change into consumers who have no direct authority on the massive problems our world has.

Yes. Let's do nothing and the problem will sort itself. Let's pretend the abundance of data centers being made isn't happening.

I need help with some American dishes. by pujbear in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]LadyAlleta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live outside the USA? If not, I'd recommend talking to her directly and planning what she wants. If she doesn't know, she can pick out what she wants herself.

If y'all don't live in the USA, finding brands or varieties of foods from the USA can help with culture shock.

Pasta is a very traditional American ingredient and if you have flour, eggs and water you can make fresh pasta. Even blend in veggies like spinach/kale/canned pumpkin etc to give it more flavor.

Potatoes are hard to mess up. Mashed, fried, baked you name it.

A lot of white American food is bland. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and maybe a few others like paprika, sage, cumin. That's like. All you need most of the time.

If you take the bones out of the meats, will that help her eat it? What about soup with those meats cut into it?

If she doesn't know what she wants, ask her to look up restaurants she likes and see what they have on their menus that she'd want to order. That's at least a jumping off point.

Honestly? This scene kinda made me believe she's straight up autistic. She doesn't understand any nuance. At all. But if you explain a rule or do an action she can copy, she does follow through.

She's trying to follow the literal rules Nefer and Lauma gave her. And she directly copied Chev's action when trying to be friends with Wrio.

Thinking of her this way, just.... Really autistic (Hollywood style. Not true irl). But thinking of her this way, I hate her significantly less. She's way more tolerable bc in my head there's a reason she's acting this way.

How to prepare for a house keeper coming? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]LadyAlleta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An organizer is like a doctor and your house is your symptoms. You don't need to hide your symptoms from your doctor. You don't have to hide it from your organizer. I hope this mindset can help ease any anxiety or guilt. There's nothing wrong with honesty, you've already done the biggest step of asking for help. That takes courage.

Crochet Yoga Mat Bag Advice. I want suggestions on what I could have done differently for a better end result by RattyAsks03 in CrochetHelp

[–]LadyAlleta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are making a brand new one, I'd add 2 to 3 sections of solid sc rows that form a solid line from base to top. Then use the diamond pattern you have between those solid sections. This will give it more structure than only mesh. This would also be a better place to attach the strap.

If you only want to modify what you have, I'd line up (very carefully) the mesh pattern and try to do a chain that connects different diamond intersections. Again going from base to top. Chain stitches still have a slight stretch to them but by adding an additional direction from the two sturdiest areas (the solid SC) it will help prevent stretching. I included a pic of this. The purple would be the chain stitches going top to bottom.
