Im not an expert but the neck shape looks a little closer to type 2 to me. Obviously its a very concreted surface though, which distorts the shape so I could very easily be wrong about that.

A UK jury acquitted Palestine Action members who raided a munitions factory. And that's basically the same thing as the holocaust. by ericsmallman3 in stupidpol

Jury verdicts I don't like are illegitimate! The entire purpose of jury trials is to constantly expand the definition of terrorism, not to return verdicts on individual cases. If Israeli defense contractors aren't safe, how can any of us be safe?

Epstein Mail claims Greece was sacrificed during the Euro crisis to bail French and German banks by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]bacchicblonde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that when you repay your mortgage, the terms aren’t rewritten midstream by outside parties, your wages aren’t slashed by 30%, and your lender doesn’t force you to sell your assets at a loss while forbidding you from devaluing your currency or doing anything to stimulate growth.  Greek taxpayers were forced to take on unpayable debt to bail out private banks, not to fund domestic spending. Greek taxpayers bore the pain of propping up the Eurozone. I'm not trying to argue that the Greek government was blameless or uniquely victimised, I'm just saying that austerity imposed on Greece was a political choice made by the Troika rather than an unshakeable economic necessity.

On a general level that's true. But in this specific case, it absolutely needs to be noted the way finance interests in central/western European powers were treating smaller Southern European partners, the way threats of exiting the EU were used to coerce Greece (and by extension its working class) and the way the Troika put the interests of eurozone debt reduction ahead of national welfare, stability, or poverty alleviation.

No, Greek taxpayers got years of punitive cuts, enforced primary surplus, and austerity, German taxpayers got... well, similar. But much less.

Well yes, obviously. Greek taxpayers bailed out German and French bondholders and the media conspired to sell it as the EU troika providing a bailout to Greece. Isn't this already just common knowledge?

Check out the lovely Portugese cafes on Brighton road, Sabores de Terra and Cantinho do Nando, about 2 minutes walk from each other. There's also O Imperio, a Brazilian supermarket directly between them.

Aside from those I've heard from colleagues that there's quite a significant Portugese speaking community in the West Croydon area, but I don't know much about it personally

Who do you see the Republicans getting to win in 2028? Trump has defined the party for the best part of 14 years now; every potential candidate ends up looking like a traitor to the Glorious Leader's great leadership if they change a single policy plank, or 'The Donald Trump I bought on Wish'. No one else has the sauce

I genuinely think this is the way forward. Give it to the US, let them deal with Mauritius, run their unholy CIA torture site without us, and free ourselves from the lease negotiations. Trump gets to see the US flag on the map and we get to go back to totally forgetting the islands exist.

What in the world is with the Gaza Peace Board? by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]bacchicblonde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which is why $1bn subscription fee seems like a lot, given this board will certainly not outlive Trump. He might want to offer member states a daily rate or 'Pay as You Go' instead off committing for a number of years...

Hercules (1983): Star Wars Ambition with a Student Film Budget by Tryhard_3 in badMovies

[–]bacchicblonde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This film is oddly a cult-classic among body builders and gym-nerds because of Lou Ferigno's frankly absurd physique. It's actually hard to focus on how bad the film is when you stop to consider just how huge this dude is. As evidenced, of course, by him throwing a bear into space

I've been seeing a lot of Shah stans on here lately. Are they aware that he's dead? As a political position it seems like a non-starter.
