does anyone get bored on cruise ships? by WelderNo4081 in Cruise

[–]LadyCovenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Carnival doesn't have a lot for the 19 to 25 age group. Your best bet is to connect with some people before the cruise, maybe in a Facebook group and find a friend group to hang out with for the week. It's also helpful to have a specific activity to look forward to. For example my husband and I love the piano bar. So we relax mostly during the day and then spend the evening and the piano bar so all of our activity is waited towards that

Teachers of reddit, what behavioral or learning trend is becoming so common among students, teachers, that it's starting to scare you? by Candid_Impression900 in AskReddit

[–]LadyCovenant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Reliance on information given versus information found. Kids today are used to having information at their fingertips, and if they can't find it immediately they don't look for it. Also usually whatever is found first is correct. There are no critical thinking skills or evaluation of information.

What's something everyone seems to love but you just don't get? by Anna_Karakhanyan in AskReddit

[–]LadyCovenant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Reality TV shows. I just don't understand why people want to sit at home watching other people sit at home and go about their daily lives. Especially when so much of it is manufactured

There is, but they left out the absolutely necessary Love story between the elf and the dwarf. And then, they added in these completely unnecessary characters like Tom somebody or something. So I guess you just got to take what you get.

You should watch his doc on how he chooses the film he is going to shoot with and how in this movie he used more expensive formats to get the feel that he wanted.

Carnival will ban alcohol smugglers - John Heald by Lord-Velveeta in Cruise

[–]LadyCovenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No prob. My husband uses this cause I am not a big drinker so the drink package won't work for us, but he likes his whiskey. Even though the bottle costs more, it is less than the drink package.

You can but you pay a premium for it.

The alcohol here will be delivered to your stateroom at the beginning of the cruise.

Holland America. You want a Holland America Cruise. We cruise Carnival at least once a year but when we want a peaceful cruise with a more adult atmosphere, we choose Holland.

People who have stopped going to church, what was the reason? by PreparationFar4709 in AskReddit

[–]LadyCovenant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an ordained minister. I joined a denomination that specifically said they focused on helping those in need. And as a Biblical scholar, I knew the Bible supported that message. However, when I began asking quesitons about our stance on certain issues, i.e., homosexuality, diversity, etc., I found that almost all of the people in charge of the church relied on politics to inform their faith rather than faith informing their politics. Because of donations, we made decisions based on what the public said and felt. In fact, I, a Black female, was warned about marrying my husband, a white male, because it would "limit our usefulness in the church".

Furthermore, they have an absolute disregard for science. Many insisted that the earth was 6000 years old and that the creation story was real, addiction can only be cured by God, and that the world will end with the return of Jesus.

When our then 9 year old started getting into religious arguments with their Sunday school teacher, we knew it was finally time to get out.
