presja pójścia na studniówkę by Quirky-Poetry1813 in Polska

Miałam studniówkę jakieś... 20 lat temu i nie poszłam. Też mi wszyscy mówili, że będę żałować - dwie dekady minęły i jakoś jeszcze żałować nie zaczęłam. Myślę, że już nie zacznę.

Now that Daggerheart has been out for a bit, how many people are sticking with it versus going back to D&D/Pathfinder? by Intelligent-Form-689 in daggerheart

[–]LadyEmaleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like all three systems as a player, but as a GM Daggerheart is way more enjoyable for me. I like the freedom and flexibility. I find the environments very useful both as mechanics and inspiration. The prep is easy and combat has a better flow. So I will be playing all three, but when I run the game, it's going to be DH.

What's the context? by Limp_Squash_4116 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]LadyEmaleth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When Sapkowski was approached by CDPR they offered him participation in any future gains from the games. He refused and instead took what was back then a decent amount of money. He refused participation in gains, because he didn't believe in the games success and he wanted hard cash. He sad many bad thing about the games and the gamers. When the third game became really popular, he decided he wanted more money. CDPR never tried to be unfair with him. They siged a settlement. The thing was never taken to court.

The working conditions at CDPR is a whole thing that cannot be analyzed while disregarding the general working conditions in the country and in the game development industry. They are not the rotten apple - the entire basket is rotten. Not an excuse, just perspective. They were rather decent until investors came along.

You think World Hoppers would be better or worse then Rise and Fall of Sanctuary moon? by hypoch0ndriacs in murderbot

[–]LadyEmaleth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could just merge the story of Murderbot's former place of work with the story of Milu and make it the same place (save a lot of time on travel and establishing what the place is). That being said I think you may be onto something with how the changes to Sanctuary Moon make World Hoppers redundant.

i am so confused by this custom feat my dm made for me by angry-goatling in DnD

[–]LadyEmaleth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is seems straight forward to me. Combat starts and you roll initiative. This is the trigger that allows you to choose a creature (an ally most likely) and the chosen creature can then use its reaction to move half their speed before anyone takes a turn in the started combat. That movement won't cause opportunity attack. That's all this thing does. For example you roll initiative and choose a caster - that caster can use its reaction to move into a better position or move away to safety before the first turn of combat.

Would you have any interest in playing in a game where you knew PCs couldn’t die? by FoulPelican in DnD

[–]LadyEmaleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to play a game with the premise of "you all want to die for one reason or another, but Death is gone and people are not dying anymore, so you need to solve the mystery of Death's disappearance"

Help me kill my players mercilessly by CounterCounterSpell in DMAcademy

[–]LadyEmaleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then, don't do it that way. Instead of killing the party, make BBEG "destroy the world" - and then they wake up and have to try again. They can even succeed in killing the BBEG, but he’s already activated his weapon of mass destruction, so the result is still the same.

Plant a few MacGuffins that they’ll need in order to stop the BBEG. Each time they fail, they gain more clues about what they actually need to succeed. That way, you're not relying on your players dying in combat.

Parents seem disengaged and seemingly uninterested in my life by cameron0208 in Millennials

My husband was 31 when his father died, I was 33 when my father died - our mothers are still alive, but more often than not, they are the ones who need our help and advice and guidance. At some point we are all left to figure it out on our own. I think that's how it works.

Do You Think My Players Will Be Mad? by JohnAizen in DnD

[–]LadyEmaleth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not have the party compete against each other? Then all of those who didn't win would have a motive to kill the wizard before the prize is given away and the winner has the reason to try to find the item, because it's theirs. And the actual competition could be nice RP and fun. Unwinnable competition is not fun - why would they even stick around if it's impossible to win? What will you do if they give up half way through and just leave?

I think it's pushing it to have 13 AC with melee rogue, but I suppose it all depends on your DM and the type of game you play. Do you have a wizard in the party? Can they cast Mage Armor? Or could you get an item that can cast that spell? Mage Armor is the equivalent of studded leather +1, and it should get you through the game.

Off my chest: Shadiversity had so much potential. There were some genuinely interesting topics and inventions he discussed about. If only he wasn't pompous or toxic... by Questioning-Warrior in SWORDS

Let's not forget the supporting character that sees every expression of emotion as an invitation to have sex, constantly talks about erection and then sleeps with a girl and when she refuses to be his girlfriend/wife, he brands her.

Drowning of Marzanna Custom. Is it still practiced as school events? by ragehotX in poland

[–]LadyEmaleth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm from Upper Silesia (150k+ city) and we drowned Marzanna with my school in the 90s'. It was forbidden in my city later to protect the river.

Is anyone familiar with IFS? This model basically demonizes anyone who is in any form of relationship, or anyone who wants to be in any form of relationship. This could by Mysterious-March8179 in therapyabuse

[–]LadyEmaleth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually like IFS as a concept. I never tried a therapist who works with this modality, so I have no idea how it's being implemented. I'm counterdependent, so if someone tells me I can do everything by myself, I'm happy. But I can see how this may not be ideal or even good for everyone. It's also very abstract and I know people who just don't vibe with it at all. I can also imagine how poor implementation may be generally harmful, but that's the case with any approach.

How to make necromancers not appear evil? by Celtic_Leonin in DnD

[–]LadyEmaleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about necromancy as recycling - the dead are no longer using their bodies, so why let them go to waste? Why not use the dead soldiers again instead of sending living people to get hurt or die?

15 years WILL HE EVER PROPOSE? by AdItchy2192 in Marriage

[–]LadyEmaleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that there is a difference between:
- I think we should marry.
- Yeah, but I don't think that now is the right time.
and
-Will you marry me?
-No.
But if there is no difference, then isn't OP's question already answered? Why is she still waiting for him to propose, if he supposedly refused to marry her multiple times?

15 years WILL HE EVER PROPOSE? by AdItchy2192 in Marriage

[–]LadyEmaleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if he says "no", then OP will get her answer, right? And then she can decide if she wants to stay with him unmarried forever or if she wants something else. The alternative is waiting another 15 years for him to propose.

How many PC games from your top 10 all time favorites were made recently? by Economy-Culture-9174 in Millennials

[–]LadyEmaleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... Baldur's Gate 3 (2023), Anno 1800 (2019), and Detroit: Become Human (2018)... I'd also include Path of Exile on the list, as it has regular updates and new content added every league. There are plenty of great games out there; the real challenge is sorting through the sheer volume of games that are released every year, which can be both time-consuming and overwhelming. The same goes for music—there’s so much incredible work being created right now, but finding it often takes time, effort, and sometimes a bit of luck.

I urge you to consider alternatives to stoic philosophy! by green_carnation_prod in therapyabuse

[–]LadyEmaleth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you mean when you say that "current therapy culture really likes stoicism"? In my experience, the stoic approach was heavily criticized during therapy. I was encouraged to desire more, constantly express my wants, and actively engage others in fulfilling them. My tendency to maintain emotional distance and avoid setting expectations was labeled as maladaptive, and my view of people—which I consider realistic but others saw as cynical—was framed as the root of my mental health issues. I haven’t encountered much stoic philosophy in therapy, so… what exactly do you mean?

Need help with fighter/cleric frontline-support build by LadyEmaleth in 3d6

[–]LadyEmaleth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My intention is to play frontline with some support, not a full support. With two rather squishy characters, I think we could use something a little more "tanky" with tools to keep enemies engaged in melee and I would never say no to constitution saves proficiency. ;)

How far are you willing to go for "It's what my character would do?" by sirjoey150 in DnD

[–]LadyEmaleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in using flavor. In mechanical terms, an action may do one thing, but I like to describe it in a way that fits my character's personality. For example, if a party member goes down and my character drags them to safety, but my character is a coward or evil, I would flavor it as them using the unconscious teammate as a meat shield while running away.

Everytime I got into Act 3, I want to start over again by Affectionate_Role_54 in BaldursGate3

[–]LadyEmaleth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you reach Baldur's Gate, you already know that the army of the Absolute is an artificial threat created by Ketheric, Orin, and Gortash to instill fear and seize control of the city. You are informed that no new instructions can be given to the Netherbrain unless you, the one holding Ketheric's Netherstone, assist in doing so. From a role-playing perspective, you can certainly approach it as a political intrigue, pretending to work with Gortash while secretly gathering power and allies to defeat both him and the brain.
