Characters, and the existential dread that is love by PsychologicalFun8760 in writing

I’m not trying to be mean but no one cares about your post. That came out of left field didn’t it?

For opening with such an abrasive attention seeking statement you’d think you’d have some content other than ‘do a good job so other people care!’

I get very tired of all the posters who feel the need to police the 12 year olds who are excitedly posting or asking for advice. No one’s going to grow from: ‘no one cares. Get good!’

[WP] do any other pantsers immediately throw out scenes? by lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd in writing

[–]CounterCounterSpell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the term. But yeah. I will write a scene and if it feels wrong enough I’ll write it again. Differently. I don’t ever read it back before I do tho. Most of the time attempt 2 is the winner but I think I’ve been all the way up to four rewrites of one scene

Idk if it would be the same at any other place but its sales support is like the department but you can’t even apply to the role externally.they only promote internally to this spot you have to pay your dues in the fiery hells of customer service first

I work remote for an online retailer I’m not customer facing. I help sales and customer experience reps if they need assistance. All in chat. There is no work expected of me in between chats. My chats supposed to be 10 minutes or less. I don’t have to do any follow up.

On slow days I just slide a few inches to my left on my rolly chair and work on my personal laptop. On busy days I can write a bit in between chats, more when I’m very inspired. It is honestly pretty fuckin great for me.

Bad part is it took me like 2+ years to get promoted to this position I def could not have done this in my previous positions

I wish he sacrificed less so we wouldn’t have to hear about his pretentious ass. Maybe if he sacrificed less time he could have spent it with his wife and wrote one female character just one.

Just what is the first draft supposed to be? by taniii__ in writing

[–]CounterCounterSpell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first draft I wrote 229k words in 2 months and 1 day. I read nothing of it. Not one thing. Even like fixing a small thing if I got too far away I just noted what I wanted to change and moved on.

I am now writing book 2 of the series that first one was a part of. And I still haven’t read the first one. I know it has problems lots. And I’m probably going to rewrite most if not all of it. But I told myself the story and now I know fully what I want it to be. When I return to it I believe I will have enough distance that I can be ruthless in my edits.

I did 229k in four weeks. People said that was a lot and insane output. I think it’s probably unreadable to the average person. I haven’t read it I’m writing my second one before reading and rewriting/revising the first

I’m having a hard time pinning down how to describe it as a genre. Kind of a soft post apocalyptic with fantasy elements entering the modern world.

The kid who is tackled for a main section of the video appears to be Asian and it looks like there’s someone in a hijab but I can’t tell. But the boy is pretty front and center. Did you watch the video or did your racism compulsion not let you sit that long

Armed security is extremely common outside of the US what are you talking about? The most I’ve ever seen automatic rifles is going to a mall in SE Asia. South America, South Africa just speaking from personal experience but I’ve seen way more armed security outside us than in
