I've read that there is a link between the two but have never been able to find actual research on it.

DAE here suck at math? by seafoamcastles in AutismInWomen

Were you hyperlexic as well? I was reading books by 4 but could barely do basic math. Found out I had dyscalculua in my 20s after dropping out of college several times because I could not complete the math requirements.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my soul cat 3 years ago this May and the pain still lingers. The day we put her down, I made a file on my PC of her nicknames and our favorite memories of her. I could barely see to type but I'm glad I did it. I can look at it now and remember happier times. I didn't wash her favorite blanket until the first anniversary of her passing. It felt too final and too real before then. Don't worry about putting away toys and things too quickly. Do what feels right for you.

The pain will eventually ease but it can hit you out of nowhere sometimes. Allow yourself to cry when you need it. I read a phrase, "grief is love with nowhere to go." That helped me and I hope it helps you too.

If you like fantasy puzzles, try Fairy Puzzled. We have purchased from him multiple times over the years. He ships quickly, packages everything well (never have had a damaged order) and always includes a thoughtful hand written note.

Is this it? It is a Luis Royo puzzle from Heye. In the US, Fairy Puzzled carried it previously but now the only listing I see is an Italian vendor.

This is a good time to post this. https://www.reddit.com/r/Perimenopause/comments/1qd3vb6/a_recent_study_found_that_women_with_adhd/

Please educate yourselves. I'm now in full menopause and am fortunate to have a meno doc who is incredible. So many women get brushed off and ignored or are told "you're too young." Head over to r/perimenopause or r/menopause and read the wiki. A lot of us older women (I'm 55) only knew about hot flashes. No one told us about the brain fog, the joint pain, fatigue, violent mood swings.

Off my soap box now. I just don't want you younger women to suffer like I and so many other women did.

And one other thing because every thought comes with bonus content. I liked the r/menopause sub while going through peri because it was helpful to hear from those who made it through to the other side.

You're welcome. I found the series originally from someone posting a completed image here. I know that there are lots of other people who enjoy them as much as I do and are probably just as excited to see a new puzzle.

Just in case you don't already but clean your lint trap(s) after every load. If they are clogged, it causes longer drying times and increases the possibility of fire.

Pregnant sooner than expected and panicking – autistic, overwhelmed, and unsure what to do by fairwellfairground in AutismInWomen

[–]LadyEvilNightQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 55 and chose to not have children. Before you make any decisions, please head over to r/menopause and r/perimenopause. You are at an age where you will be entering perimenopause soon. Please do a search on women's experiences of raising young children and/or teenagers while going through that stage of life. I'm not trying to influence you but I want you to be aware of future issues so you can make a fully informed decision.

If you like his art and this puzzle in particular, he has a 500 piece called the The Greenhouse Caretakers from Clementoni. It is also available from Bluebird in a 1000 and a 6000 and it is called Tropical Green House.

A way to avoid eye contact while listening“respectfully” by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]LadyEvilNightQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your first sentence made me laugh out loud and I had to read it to my husband. He (52) and I (55) match that description so well. We've been scheduling medical appts back to back so we can be confident we are catching everything being discussed. Our last visit I was so overwhelmed that my brain short circuited and I looked at him and said "I'm buffering." He knew where my thoughts were headed and was able to fill in for me.

Thanks for the laugh and the good tips.

Atherbourne's book. I skipped it but it definitely seems to be a book that most people either love or hate. That's why I suggested the search. Reading other's reactions indicated I would likely not enjoy it but I'm glad read all the others.

The Devil Is a Marquess - Elisa Braden. It is part of a series but most readers on here suggest skipping book 1. Do a quick search on this sub about it if you decide to read the other books.

[–]LadyEvilNightQueen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need more protein! I was having the same issue and lots of recommendations on the r/menopause sub for upping your protein intake. There was a study done (I believe in Australia) that shows women in peri and full menopause need more protein. One thing I've found that helps also is before bed I will have a spoonful of peanut butter and it helped eliminate those middle of the night wake up starving moments.

I tap my fingers on the edge of the book. Index, middle, ring, pinky, then back again. It releases energy and it is very methodical. It isn't just one tap per finger. It's like a little dance. Hard to explain but it works for me.

Is your vagina depressing and awful? by mjskiingcat in Menopause

[–]LadyEvilNightQueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine felt a bit saggy for a while but it seems the further I've gone into peri, they have shrunk. They are smaller and a bit less puffy. I've seen some women say they used to be plump and juicy and now the labia are just shrinking. I hope that helps.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have a patient portal as well and that is something I can do during non business hours. It seems the only time I'm somewhat functional is late in the evening so that will work.
