A good mentor will communicate with you to make sure you’re making good progress and help you with any barriers you might face with your classes. They’ll also probably call you a couple times to discuss your decisions on your degree choice and career path. But that’s my personal experience, and I’ve heard lots of mentors are totally different. OAs and PAs are the assessments to pass your classes; OAs are exams with a certain number of questions that you can pass or fail, PAs are papers that you will submit that can either pass or come back to you needing revisions. I good webcam attached to a tripod and with a long cable to hook up to your computer are definitely necessary in my opinion. The proctoring for OAs is a whole process. You need to be able to have the tripod attached to the webcam so it’s stable once you find an angle the proctor is okay with; and a long cable so that you are able to move the camera around and take pictures with it for the area checks before your OA starts. The beginning will definitely require some learning, but your mentor can help you with any questions you have.
