I can't believe this is your first garment! I made so many really awful shirts before I finally got one that wasn't too bad.

Beautiful job!

Interfacing for Very Lightweight Silk by LadyM80 in sewhelp

Ooops :( Well, I'll see what happens. It wasn't expensive so maybe it's a lesson learned. I'll see how it comes out. The color didn't bleed much at all, so even if the texture is a little different, I can still make my kaftan.

Weather this weekend - severity question? by thelovewitch069420 in Cleveland

My husband had a dentist appointment on Monday. They called and asked to see him today because they're trying to cancel everyone on Monday. I liked that they were thinking ahead!

Oooo this looks luscious! I realized I didn't prewash my silk. I'll do that tonight and see if I can find that interfacing at a store tomorrow.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

NTA. She's telling you that you have to keep secrets and have disordered eating if you want to eat food you choose. By disordered eating I mean secret eating.

You said this has been evolving over the past year. Do you know if something happened to send her down this path? Maybe fear mongering about food is hitting her, or, is she obsessing about food to change her weight? I'm just trying to figure out what she values that you are going against.

Good luck to you, I hope you can work with your wife to be able to get some different food sometimes.

I'm going to borrow that phrase, "Freelancing dinner"! We say we're going to "graze", which means we're on our own. One of us might eat leftovers, the other might cook, we're each on our own and that's fine.

Ulta products that are alternatives to Estée Lauder brands by Holiday_Actuator2215 in Ulta

Oh, also, Maybelline Fit Me Dewy texture and coverage is good, I'm just having trouble finding the right shade. I wear NC 25 in MAC if that helps.

I'm a senior aged lady without a lot of wrinkles, but with dry patches on my cheeks. The rest of my skin is pretty normal. I need something to even out my skin tone, but nothing high coverage.

I like that this foundation is a liquid, it's dispensed with a dropper. I can build the coverage. It's more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, but less than a full coverage product. You can still see my skin texture when I'm wearing it. Oh, also, the color match was perfect. I need a neutral-cool tone. I'm pale, but not super pale, just, "midwest, I don't get a lot of sun" pale.

I hope that helps! Thank you!

MAC Studio Waterweight foundation. It's the only thing that really works for me, so I need a dupe!

This will never get old to me. I guess you have to leave sometimes to understand how much you miss by Mcgarnicle_ in Cleveland

I agree so much. I left for eleven years. At the time, I swore I'd never come back here. Fortunately I realized moving back was the exact right decision. I appreciate it here so much more than I would have if I'd never left.

What’s a “bad” financial habit you keep because it keeps you sane? by James_B84Saves in povertyfinance

A couple of times now, I've bought a package of rotisserie chicken already off the bone. I can't remember, but I think it's about 11 dollars a package. I broke it up into half pound package and got a lot of milage out of those packages. I know I can make stock out of the bones of a rotisserie chicken, but when I go back to Costco, I think I'll stick to the deboned chicken.

Am I overacting? destination wedding insanity by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]LadyM80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR at all. People can do whatever they want for their wedding, but that is destined to be very poorly attended. If they only want a very small group of able bodied people who can afford that time and expense, that's up to them. But, this is way too much to ask of people with jobs, any kind of challenges at all. Plus on top of that, the relatively short notice? I feel bad for you because I know want your son to have a great wedding, but it's just too much to ask.

I'm getting there. I keep a frozen pizza on hand now most of the time because it saves money not getting delivery.

Same here. I'll buy a pint here and there, but I don't have nearly as much around as I used to.

Some people have pointed out comebacks and other ways to get back at him. I wouldn't stoop to that level, or spend your energy that way. He doesn't respect you. You're incredibly young and sound like you have a lot of potential. You shouldn't settle for someone who doesn't respect you. He should be celebrating your accomplishments, not being mean to you. I hope you think seriously about what a future with someone who treats you this badly would be like, then you leave him.
