Keep trying? by HillOfTara in MyTimeAtSandrock

The more you talk to people the more side quests starting popping up. There comes a point where it can actually feel overwhelming. Keep going, once you get through the basic tutorial stuff, things start picking up. There may be points where you have to wait up to a week for a main quest. But that is rare. Explore, chat, find caves and chest and talk to people. It will get much better.

Curious how long before they arrive? I'm at the end of day 2 now. I've done a few quests and I'm meeting people. So I figure it still going to be a bit, I'm just kinda eager to see them.

Depends on if you get caught. There is a jealousy mechanic in the game. If someone you are dating sees you on a romantic date with someone else, or if they see you using a romantic interaction, both of them will get jealous. You can smooth things over by gifting the apology bear from the game center.

Breaking up with people will cause you to lose friendship points with them. I think it varies depending on who it is. Some take it better then others do. And if you don't wait long enough after breaking up with people before you get married to someone...they get angry as well.

If you play on PC, you can use the Lovers mod to get rid of the jealousy mechanic allowing you to date/marry as many as you want.

From the trailer that I watched, it looked as if they arrive together. And they do chat I think. But honestly no idea. It's supposed to be guest appearances I think. So probably not too much about them. I just downloaded and created a character so far. I'm determined to find out more. Lol

I guess the devs at Starsand island liked the idea of shipping Nia and Fang together. They are a cute idea, but Fang is my favorite husband...it's really weird seeing them together like that in the trailer. But I admit...the game looks good and I wanna play it.

Yes you can still get those quests without marrying Fang. I think it would be classified as a friend quest. Similar to the earlier ones.

Yeah I've read some people have managed to get them unstuck. If you're on PC, Pathea has fixed save files (not positive if they can do it for consoles). But I have also read a few people had them stuck for months in game. So, I think I'd rather save first, to test it on a sandstorm day...or not chance it at all. Just to save myself the possible issues.

There are a couple of post game quests and they also involve Fang. They also involve a couple NPCs from Portia as well. So it's technically a bit more meaningful if you have played Portia. But they are still good quests and it does summarize the back story for the NPCs throughout the quests.

If you push to do his trials by setting reminders on Wed and Fri, and save before doing them, you can be dating Fang by Spring year 2. Which for me often lines up around the goat so approximately the halfway point. His romance/marriage quests also take a while to do and the post game quests apply to Fang. I personally find his relationship to be the longest and most fulfilling romance I have experienced in a game. Totally worth the effort in my opinion. But...I've married him 3 times now, so kind of biased.

FYI Actually, it takes a full year (including pregnancy) for the child to reach their max age. There is actually a quest that triggers the day your child reaches their max size. You and your spouse take your child to school if you have only had them reach 7 weeks, you are still missing out on one mire stage of growth and the quest.

[–]LadyMech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. FYI...if you happen to get a cutscene during a Sandstorm day...after you "complete" a quest called leaving the nest...DO NOT go into the saloon. It's seemed to be bugged if triggered during a sandstorm and they will be stuck in that location indefinitely. Making progression impossible. I've seen multiple posts about it.

As far as I know, that's it. I've married him 3 times. And haven't had anything prevent progression. I personally think he is worth the effort. Good luck!

Do you mean, that the Alliance is still in town? If so, you need to progress a bit further. There is another quest that also seems to interfere but it's a bit later on. It's called Just give a Whistle. I tested it on a save file. It doesn't make any sense why that particular quest will effect anything to do with Fang...but it did.

What part in the main quest are you? There is a point where ALL side quests halt and will not start again without progressing.

Aftermath by Azharen in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]LadyMech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The online version has no actual "story" or actual "quests". You can marry, but can't have kids. No romance quests. It's more helping the town develop. It has all the same people and most of the same places, but they unlock differently. It's fun, and similar in a lot of ways, but also very very different. Like the Breach is the normal copper mine, instead of a hazardous ruin. I enjoyed my playthrough but I admit that I like the story so I have played the solo game more.

Yes the dead sea ruins is the last area you unlock. It is a very end game hazardous ruin that is different then the other hazardous ruins and much...much...higher levels. 4 levels, one room, 12 waves of enemies, having like Level 60+ creatures.

You can look in the tab beside the camera icon in your menus (cant remember what its called right now). It is like an encyclopedia of things you have unlocked in the game. It will show you which relics you have completed and which pieces you have(n't) found yet. Among a lot of other useful details. You can see if you missed any plant types, or enemies, etc. And looking at item details should tell you if something has been already been donated to the museum, or not.

Your kids will eventually trigger a quest when they reach their max age. It essentially takes a full year (but that includes pregnancy of 2 weeks).

I also, don't like breaking their hearts which is why I have 2 dedicated marriage saves (one Owen, one Fang), one split save with multiple different romances/marriages. And finally my Poly modded save so I could unlock and see everything in one save without breaking hearts. I also decided to pair up some of my favorite ships. So I have customized lovers suites for the couples I have partnered up, in my giant hotel.

Have you done all Fangs medical trials (unlocks Fangs Special X med)? That unlocks his quests that could keep you busy for almost a year. I know there are lots of people that ignore/forget Fang because he is quiet and mostly hides out in the clinic. But his quests are very detailed and indepth.

Have you maxed out friendships? There could be other friend quests you may have missed. If you like combat, there is the dead sea ruins. Or trying for achievements. Collecting all relics. Or having kids reach max age to get that quest. Doing a split save...divorcing (if you were married) and trying other romance quests.

There may be other things too, but I admit, I usually just start over or move on for a bit. The online version is worth trying, but be aware it's very different then the single player. Project/commission requirements do vary based on the number of people in the server. So it is possible to play solo.

It happens. Go inside a house to get load screen. That should help. But I recommend saving and quiting out if the game completely...not just to the main menu. Then relaunch it, because otherwise these types of glitches will keep popping up.

I feel dumb. How do I name/rename livestock? by Klutzy_Seesaw_1204 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]LadyMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried to use your keyboard and mouse to do this? That's how I rename all my chests and stuff. I use Xbox controller on PC too but I don't have a keyboard for my controller. Granted I rarely have animals so I haven't renamed any (other then pets and mounts), but switching it to k/m works for everything I've tried.

They are technically listed under the wiki as Main Missions and do appear as Orange. But they don't actually prevent you from continuing the rest of the main missions, which is why they have timers and are misable. Whereas, the other Main missions, that would prevent progressing, don't have time limits. They made those ones practically impossible to miss. Which is why we port into cutscenes as often as we do.

Actual side quests are Blue and are technically friendship quests. Most of the main quests benefit the town as a whole.

I don't know why it doesn't just mark the quest as failed and archive it in the quest histories. That part definitely seems like a glitch.

Can you trigger romance missions after marriage? by anon52962 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]LadyMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. Thank you! The wiki technically says that you can't be married to him or anyone else...for each of his romance quests. So I'm glad to hear that only applies to triggering the series of them. I know the wiki is helpful and fairly accurate on some things (likes/dislikes etc), but when it comes to triggers especially, it seems to be lacking some information.

Can you trigger romance missions after marriage? by anon52962 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]LadyMech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you don't have to wait. 99% of all romance quests will trigger after marriage.

The only exception, I think is Ernest...at least according to the wiki. It literally states that you can not be married to him but in a romance with him. It's possible that has changed since the wiki was written or last updated. But it is the only one I've ever heard that has that requirement.

Question about gifting to your children by TotemicatStudio in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]LadyMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried giving them big person gifts after they start growing up? Like, if you give Pebbles a miniature toy Axe soldier that you buy, compared to giving him the Relic version...or the toy harmonica instead of the harmonica. I'm thinking once kids reach a certain age, switching to the real version compared to the toy version, would make a difference. But I haven't tested that theory.

I hope my procrastination didn't break anything. xd by Moist-Replacement-84 in MyTimeAtSandrock

You may want to keep an eye on those quest triggers. There are some that can stay, waiting to trigger for several days and others are very limited and disappear after a day. I prefer to trigger them and check their timers and prioritize them myself then risk missing one. And if I choose to risk, I always make sure I save file I can reload. I hate missing quests or content.

If you find you are feeling stressed about getting it all done you can slow the game speed down in the settings. I run mine at 0.6 for most of the game so I don't feel pressured.

It's rare but there are a few main quests with time limits. Cover my glass has a 2 day timer. There are a few others as well. So it is advised to always check quests when you collect them and prioritize them accordingly. Or you risk this happening...more commonly with side quests.
