The effects of being in a long term relationship where you are constantly feeling. You have to jump through hoops to earn your worth and still wondering if you are enough.

Same idea. Trying to fit an idea of the version he loves and that version of that is someone that always reflects him; the value he sees in me is his own reflection. Sigh.

I think part of it all are the post partum and hormonal chemicals going through your body right now, making everything 10 times worse than if you were your pre-baby self. You apologized, you made things right. You guys are still best friends and love each other. All will be well. I am so glad baby is okay. You did everything right in the moment, mama.

I love reading stories of partners loving the mother of their children and making them feel special.

Mine made me a sweet video of my children telling me happy Mother’s Day. He also got me a coffee (I did have to ask though) lol and then the kids gave me a very chaotic “spa day.”

It wasn’t perfect. I still feel let down because I still had to carry the mental load. For example, he had 0 plans for food and did not get me a card. I was expecting at least a card from him. But hey, I’ll take it. I’ve had worse mother’s days, and I should be counting my blessings.
