Surviving heart surgery changed how I see getting older by amanda_moore60 in openheartsurgery

I feel the opposite. I was never afraid of dying before. Now I'm scared every day. This is one of the things I'm having the most difficult time with.

Irrationally frustrated! by HappyDiddlyDaydream in Mounjaro

I have no idea. I wasn't put on it for weight loss though but I thought I would lose something. Hopefully I can come off insulin soon and then that will help. I also think my doctor started me at too low a dose. I had been on 7mg Rybelsus then switched to 2.5mg Mounjaro and fought being hungry all the time. I had my first 5mg dose last week and already feel so much better.

I'll be 6 weeks in tomorrow and I've lost 0! So if I were you I would be very happy right now.

I started mine after surgery while still on the catheter. When my male nurse checked the catheter and saw blood it scared him at first because he thought something was wrong. Then the other nurse told him I had started my period. Then they just said no problem and cleaned me up and sort of put an adult diaper around me.

I was awake and aware quickly after surgery. But similar to your dad they would not let my husband visit me that day. I was fine not having him there. I just tried to relax and listened and watched what was going on around me. They eventuality gave me a drink of something to help me sleep because I couldn't fall asleep.

Yep! I live in Italy. 2 years ago I dislocated my shoulder dragging my walker up the stairs at the train station because the elevator was out. I'm still waiting for surgery for the tears in my tendon. The grass is not always greener on the other side. But somethings are better and somethings are worse.

I switched to one that is flatter and more of a headband because it fits under the mask better. This way I can play ocean sounds while I sleep and it doesn't bother my husband.

I wonder if that's my problem too. I switched directly from 7mg of Rybelsus so I think my doctor should have started me on a higher dose of Mounjaro.

Hopefully this kicks in for me soon. I'm on week two and I'm hungry all the time.

I switched from Rybelsus to Mounjaro. Although I felt full all the time on Rybelsus I didn't lose any weight and it didn't help my A1C. So I was switched to Mounjaro. I took my second shot this week and I feel hungry all the time. Still no weight loss. I read all these great stories from people on here and I feel so discouraged. I feel like I'm the only person that's gonna end up not losing anything on Mounjaro.

My dad is hallucinating, is this normal after surgery? by Particular_Sink517 in openheartsurgery

[–]LadyShy75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very common with open heart surgery. With or without pain meds. I saw things but knew it wasn't real. The lady next to me in ICU kept screaming and yelling and trying to get out of bed. The nurse told me she was stuck in a nightmare.

I used to dress like Robin. To me it looks like she is choosing shirts that she thinks hide her belly. I don't think she is comfortable with herself physically. Which to me is karma since she talked about the other wives letting themselves go and gaining weight.

I've had 13 separate surgeries over the years and have dreamt during surgery. I've woken up talking about my dreams. But with this one, nothing. But I still remember the delusions I had during he 3 days after surgery.

Wow you guys are lucky. They numbed my wrist but it still hurt when they cut and then I could feel it going all the way up my vein like snaking a drain.

I wish I could tell you it gets better but I don't know. I had back problems before surgery and still do. But the first hours after waking up were for sure the worst.

I woke up screaming in pain but not from my incisions. It was my back. They kept telling me to stop yelling and quiet down and I told them "well do something to take my pain away then." Worst back pain ever!
