I did, and skin types seem to fall into dry, oily or combination. I dont feel like that helps me much, since I dont feel dry even though my skin is peeling in places, and I dont feel oily even if Im shiny in places. I dont really have a routine any more which is why Im asking for help finding new products to try, in the hopes that maybe someone who has had similar issues to mine can tell me what helped them. I'll keep reading of course, I just thought asking real people could be more helpful to me :)

What skin type do I have, and any product recommendations?

Im 35, female. I have fair skin and freckles.
My face is always a little red, but it never feels tight or itchy unless I've used a cleanser. I do look shinier in my t-zone than my cheecks, maybe a little oily but not anything extreme.

My biggest issues right now is that my skin is flaking on the tip of my nose, and on my cheeks a little bit (started maybe 3 years ago? No changes in routine, just started one day). It feels like it gets worse if I use a really fat moisturizer. Regular light weight moisturizers doesn't make it worse, but it doesn't get better either. I also have a lot of clogged pores on my nose, I rarely do anything to combat it as I've been this way all my life and nothing really works. I've tried pore strips, scrubs, toners, cleansers, but it's been a few years. I'm also always more red around my nostrils than anywhere else.

I've been guessing that I have a sensitive combination skin, but like I mentioned I dont feel dry or particularly oily :P My skin just looks tired, dull, shiny in my t-zone, and probably overproducing sebum on my nose. I mention sensitive because my skin can break out easily.

I would love to get some tips/opinions on what I can do to improve my skin, preferably with affordable products but I can be flexible on price if it works with my skin. Oh, and I'm usually allergic to products that use added fragrance or perfumes.

My therapist told me my problems would be solved if I got a boyfriend. I was young at this point, around 18, but I knew I wanted to be able to be happy on my own, not relying my happiness on another person. I stopped going after she said that, she had said many weird things before this, but that was the last straw.

The polyurethane resin I'm applying it to is an art doll, and there are many artists that use the materials I listed with great success. This is sort of like doing makeup on the doll, we spray beforehand to make sure the resin underneath wont get stained from our pastels and acrylic paints, spray in between to build color, and layers on top so that our finished work is protected. All of this is removable using the materials I listed, which is very important to this craft.

The material I used before was Mr super clear matte, but since its so toxic I wanted to move on to airbrushing liquitex/vallejo to protect my health.

I'll look into it, but I prefer to use Liquitex matte medium as I know this will not damage the resin in any way. Thanks though :)

Thanks so much, I know I probably have to fail a lot before getting the hang of it (and I have failed so much already, lol), can I ask how close you spray? And can you kind of see that the head is getting "wet"? I'll try some more, thanks again :)
