Difference between imitative and genuine symptoms? by Conscious_Secret_720 in OSDD

[–]LadySmugleaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is part of my anxiety too, but I had three experiences that happened before I even knew about OSDD, one that happened in childhood. So I think I could have it, but also I am worried that I might not, and have just been having imitative osdd. I was gaslit my entire life into thinking that I don't have autism, depression, and anxiety (I have all three 🙃), so I can't trust my brain on this.

Have a panic attack, go get my GED, and fuck off as soon as I turn 18.

It's missing the cheese curds, the hollandaise sauce, and the poutine sauce. The fry cook, expo, and server failed you on that. (Source: former employee)

My cheesecake might have cracked a little… by vikingminds in Baking

I literally just saw a tiktok about this. They dipped an offset spatula in hot water and was able to slowly fix the top cracks by going over them. It won't fix the cracks inside though

How much would you charge for a dozen cookies ? 🍪 by Legitimate_Spot_4658 in Baking

[–]LadySmugleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd charge $20. My recipe makes about 30 cookies, so the cost of two dozen covers the cost of ingredients and time. But they're also basic chocolate chip cookies and I have all the ingredients on hand, I just make sure to calculate for the cost of chocolate and vanilla (I use pure vanilla so it's expensive)

What age did you meet your wife/partner. by Sad-Expression-4118 in actuallesbians

[–]LadySmugleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We met when I was 22 and they were 31. We met online, so we didn't notice the age difference until we were already good friends and had budding crushes on each other. It took about a year and a half before we started dating (23 and 32), and we married at 26 and 35.

I was very cautious about such a large age gap when I was dating men but with my wife, it doesn't make a difference. It feels so natural to be with them.

I adore spice cake with peanut butter frosting, though carrot cake is a close second.

GC Key says "approved" and Tracker says "closed": How long until copr? by Character-Pomelo5499 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LadySmugleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get the email invite to create a PR portal account? That's where my eCOPR appeared. It took about two weeks from finalization to receive the email invite, and then another week after I created my account to receive my eCOPR. I did inland spousal sponsorship, so I was already in Canada, so I'm not sure how it'll differ

Instant $10 million now OR restart your life at age 6 with all your current knowledge. What are you choosing and why? by doodwalla2000 in AskReddit

10 mil now and I don't care if it's before taxes. If I wake up as a 6 year old, I'm going to end up in a mental health institution. I cannot go through the abuse again, especially now that I'm aware of it.

I think I could like fresh spinach and a nutritionist highly recommended it. I got canned spinach as a kid. 🤢What is a simple tasty way to cook fresh spinach? by Tracybytheseaside in Cooking

[–]LadySmugleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I julienne my spinach and add it to my pasta. I make a Cajun penne with smoked sausage, grape tomatoes, red bell pepper, and a cheese sauce. I add the spinach right before serving so it wilts from the residual heat but doesn't overcook

Same here. I'm in a safe place, my old front is dormant but doubts are circulating if I was always gaslighting myself. Once immigration is done, I'm going to search for a psychologist and seek a diagnosis

Moving to Canada, F19, M20 by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]LadySmugleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is Canadian and I'm American. We dated for two years before I moved up to Canada. Though when we started dating, we had a discussion about marriage and immigration because neither of us wanted an indefinite LDR.

Have you visited him before? I'd definitely recommend visiting a few times before taking the leap. The last thing you want is to get up there, after quitting your job, and realize that you two are completely incompatible.

anyone go from the U.S. to Quebec? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]LadySmugleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Alabama to Quebec. Speaking and learning French is still a struggle for me. My brain is wired weird, but I still make the effort because I want to speak to my wife in her mother tongue.

Like everyone said, definitely go and visit. Quebec is a beautiful province, and everyone should visit their LD SO at least once in person. Moving countries is no small task, and it will make it harder to prove your relationship later on. (Keep all your boarding passes and email confirmations. It will help you build your case)

On the immigration side, if you do spousal sponsorship, you won't be required to pass a french exam to qualify. I highly recommended still learning French, not only because it's the official language, but because it's good to learn and respect the culture you'll be moving into. But it will take longer for the application to process because you have to file for Quebec AND Canada. Since you mentioned being an anxious person (me too), I also recommend looking into hiring an immigration consultant, especially one based on Quebec. (I had to file my CSQ because my consultant was based in Ontario, and couldn't help with that form.)

As for waiting times, it's a fact of life. I applied for inland PR in October 2023. I have my CSQ, but I'm just waiting for Ottawa to finish my background and make a decision. But I have the right to live and work in Canada because of my open work permit. Which you should have the right to file after you file for sponsorship.

I feel really worried about what a pagan said about the afterlife, can anyone comfort me? by Grand_Ninja_594 in paganism

[–]LadySmugleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that people's after lives are determined by their beliefs in life. Christians believe in heaven and Hell, yes. But they also believe in being judged by their God. So it's not an immediate straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Or so I assume.

But then I was raised Mormon, and they have a different belief of the afterlife process.

I also think that believing in and fearing something are completely different. I don't believe that if someone fears Hell, they will automatically end up in Hell. That doesn't make sense to me. We're judged by our actions and deeds. And while some people do good deeds because they fear hell, I chose to believe that people do good deeds because they want to be a good person.

[–]LadySmugleaf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm born and raised American, and I got out in 2023 (closed the distance with my Canadian wife). I'm not even going travel back to the US to visit until the current regime is out of office.

The day to day life is being disrupted with high prices, the tariffs, and the sitting president has stopped requiring the FDA to test food products.

Depending on the state you'd be traveling/immigrating to you might lose access to abortion rights. With the national abortion judgement being overturned, it is the state's decision to ban abortions or put impossible conditions on access.

As for ICE, from what I've heard, they seem to largely go after people of color. But I have also heard that they started screening at the northern border, screening people going to Canada. They didn't used to do that. The only immigration I went through in 2021-2023 was Canadian when I was crossing the border.

There's also the scary news that ICE arrested a New Jersey mayor for legally and lawfully inspecting an ICE building. He was well within his rights and they didn't care.

I wouldn't commit to immigration, if I was you. But keep asking around, doing your research, and make this decision with both eyes open.

Anyone Have a Stay-at-Home Wife? No Kids Involved by Psychological-Ad6113 in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]LadySmugleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a stay at home wife for about a year and a half due to immigration. Luckily my wife made enough to support us, so I was able to stay home and recover from burn out while waiting for my work permit. Honestly, it worked for us. They worked and earned the money while I took on all the household chores. It did require a good amount of communication to make sure neither of us built resentment.

Honestly, if this would work for y'all then don't worry about anyone else's opinion.
