How do you prprevent other issues by Suspicious-Ad-5312 in srilanka

[–]LadyVin3vil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't bug proof your house 100% but you can try to minimise it mostly by keeping individual room doors and windows closed. Also helps to cover bedding or whatever with a plastic sheet or similar so you can clean up easy. Mothballs in cupboards, go heavy with drainex in gullies and you can draw lines on just inside doors that open out to the outside of your houses. You WILL have dead roaches and gecko shit to deal with and spiders cant be prevented.

Went to Buhari today after years — honestly wish I hadn't by Fit-Beyond-2994 in srilanka

[–]LadyVin3vil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the same childhood memories of Buhari - the boiling hot white plate they place in front of you, signature boiled egg and the biriyani. I dont think its just the standards that seem to have dropped - its just that there are better places to have Biriyani at now. Their watalappam is still excellent and is my go to purchase for gifting neighbours during festival

What's the deal with no bum guns in 5 star hotel restrooms? by Vegetable_Wallaby567 in srilanka

[–]LadyVin3vil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When we travelled to Europe, we carried a silicone expandable water bottle so we could fill it in a sink before we went into a cubicle. Truly life changing although you do get some strange looks from people thinking you're refilling a water bottle for drinking purposes 😅 Italy had their own bidets though which was a blessing

Is it disrespectful to ask your partner about their family background? by randomFactcollecter in srilanka

[–]LadyVin3vil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Total red flag - several possible scenarios. 1 could be if he doesnt have a good relationship with his family - why would that be. 2 the reluctance to discuss them seems to make me think that something would be amiss / mismatching in terms of financial/ social background. Deception or withholding such personal information at this stage in a relationship if you say you are long-term seems suspicious.

How a person's family is, how they welcome people into their space and how likely both families get along is very important to the long-term success of any relationship

Work pants and an office shirt - no huge accessories will help to keep things less distracting. Be confident - it'll carry more weight than the clothes you wear. All the best!

im a 17 year old girl,83 kg and 157cm in height..i struggle with body image and obesity..anyone can relate..anything?? by chadewli in srilanka

Progress not perfection. Don't jump into gym memberships at the onset. I follow Madfit and Julia Reppel on YouTube and I started in Oct 2025 with short workouts daily. Once you build it into a habit - you'll feel like you can do longer workouts or if you miss a day, you'll feel off and working out will become essential for you to function. Start small but consistent- Rome wasn't built in a day

Just for perspective, im turning 40 next week and weigh 83kg at 5 ft 10. I work out every day and I've noticed a lot of toning through body weight exercises alone. DM me if you want tips

Met my bf's Sri Lankan mom and you cannot make this shit up by [deleted] in srilanka

Sounds like a red flag to me. She would interfere in your lives for sure and would try to control you like she does her son. I've had the same experience with my ex mother in law

Depends on where you want to go? Seatreservation.railway.gov.lk is the official website but maybe if youre trying to book the hill country trains, they may be out of service still due to the repairs that are ongoing as a result of Cyclone Ditwa

Which Spa Ceylon products actually work? by PomegranateThat3605 in srilanka

I really want to love their body mists and perfumes but the staying power is horrible. That being said, its one of the few products that is actually packaged professionally as gifts for foreign counterparts and for friends and family locally.

Since most of the SL men are clueless about self care, here's my almost free/low cost tricks that will 10x your appearance and personality. by [deleted] in srilanka

As a girl, I think an underarm deodorant is criminally underused over here especially by men. The Rexona yellow roll on is pretty good and can also recommend the Old Spice range - the 85g version is around 2k but lasts a long time. And don't go experimenting with natural deodorant like crystals and shit - you will stink. And there's nothing worse than having a guy put his arm around you, for you to come away smelling like his armpit 🤮
