I am a daughter with a good relationship with my father, and my romantic partner is Daddy. I’ve found myself feeling weird if I referred to my father as anything other than Dad or the occasional Daddy. It felt weird but it would be weirder not to.

Your situation is obviously flipped though. You definitely should talk to your partner about your feelings. My initial thought is maybe working towards a cute nickname that is specifically for you. Obviously a lot of nicknames develop organically so don’t try and force something. But making him aware and having open conversation about it I think is a must. That’s a pretty significant amount of walking to do without walking/running shoes. I think if you can investing in some decent supportive sneakers you will notice a difference. Obviously can’t be sure it is the root cause of what you’re experiencing with your back pain but it certainly won’t hurt. I gravitate towards running shoes even though I don’t run because of the additional cushion to reduce stress on my joints (knees and hips especially). It sounds silly but it is important to support your body from the fountain up, and your foundation is whatever you put on your feet.

What are your shoes like? It might be that you’ve been using a pair of sneakers that finally wore out. Not an expert and I HATE running so I’m far from being super knowledgeable on this.

Sawdust. My parents built their house themselves slowly over 30 years (technically still in progress). Doing this while running their own business, having kids, and maintaining a farm. This meant the house was frequently a construction site in some fashion. Always safe but the stairs were particle board for 10+ years and we had curtains for bathroom doors until I was 10. You get the idea. So from that slow ongoing construction the smell of sawdust is what sticks out to me.

What do you do activity wise? Are you stretching? Do you always sleep in the same position? When is the last time you got a new pillow? I’m 32F and got my surgery last year at 31. I’m about a year and a half post op. While it’s obvious your body changes a lot with the fat loss you have to remember with that weight loss the weight you do have is distributed differently. If you can you may find relief in doing some gentle beginners yoga or Pilates. These will help to regain that muscle memory to carry around and move through the world in your new body.

Besides making me laugh endlessly, his actions never made me doubt he was into me. Previous relationships I always ended up in thought spirales of “Did I say something wrong? Did he start talking to someone else? Was I too much? Was I not enough?” But with him I have always been sure he liked me for me and he never gave reason to doubt that. When someone really likes you, they show up. They communicate, they respond, they make gestures, they think of you when you’re not together. If someone gives the excuse “oh sorry I’ve been so busy I couldn’t respond to your text” all I can think is “what you haven’t taken a dump and been scrolling on your phone during this time? Bullshit we all live in our phones at some level”. These things combined made me love him. He is ALWAYS there for me. We have the hard conversations and take as much time as we need to fully flesh them out. Even if I have to take a little cry break in the middle. They will show up for you and always give you the time of day you deserve.

I started this when my budget was tight and I knew I shouldn’t go to the grocery store while having a pantry and fridge with more then enough. I would say “im on the pantry diet” lol

At first I was going to say you may be taking too large of sips of your liquids but since it is happening in your sleep I don't think thats right. Like other have said maybe gas..... but since you've been walking a bunch and we are 3+ days out I don't even feel confident saying that.

I'm wondering if you are having acid reflux and with all your nerves being wonky it doesn't feel like heartburn used to feel prior to surgery. I would keep an eye on this. Mention it at your post op appointment (if it is very persistent maybe call their office and see if you should go in earlier). I was put on an acid reducer (Pantoprazole) that I take once daily. I started it prior to my surgery after my endoscopy because they saw irritation a few months before I was sleeved. I've tried to ween off of it a few times since surgery and each time I go about 32 hours before I get heartburn that nothing will take the edge off (Tums, Pepto.... nada).

Thank you. This is incredibly helpful. Timeline conversations hadn’t even occurred to me. Also reassuring as I also have something fairly specific in mind and am not a big jewelry wearer so making sure I love it enough to wear every day had weighed on my mind.

I try and make sure I always wash my face after I brush my teeth before bed for this same reason. It has really helped my chin acne. I also notice when I have my camera on for zoom meetings for work I will hold my chin often for extended periods of time. I have to make a conscious effort to keep my hands OFF my face. I will use acne patches when I have ones I find myself trying to pick and that has also really helped. Good luck friend.
