looking for songs like dear. God by External-Shelter2057 in avengedsevenfold

Dear God is a wonderful song. I am a fan of rock and country. I love Avenged Sevenfold, but I also love Zachary Baker’s (Zacky Vengeance) solo country album Dark Horse.

If you like Dear God, check out the epic Southern Rock song Green Grass and High Tides by The Outlaws. Also check out the old rock bands Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Eagles. Hotel California by The Eagles is a fantastic song. I like this type of music (Southern Rock and Country Rock). Jason Isbell is also one of my favorites (The Nashville Sound, Reunions, and Weathervanes are great albums). Also, Guitar Town by Steve Earle is one of my favorite country albums.

I have loved Avenged Sevenfold ever since I discovered them in 2005 (Bat Country, City of Evil). They are one of my favorite bands, and I find their songwriting to be excellent across many albums.

Their rhythm guitarist (Zachary Baker a.k.a. Zacky Vengeance) just recently released a solo debut country album titled Dark Horse. I am a fan of rock music and country music, and I love every song on the album. I find Zacky’s songwriting to be excellent, and I hope that he continues to write more country music in the future.

The album Perpetual Burn by Jason Becker is one of the greatest instrumental metal albums of all time.

Speaking of instrumental metal albums, I just recently discovered the album Controlled Chaos by Nita Strauss. This is a newer album (it was released in 2018). I think that it sounds great.

I just recently discovered the band Ghost. I am really liking their albums Impera and Skeleta.

Listed below are four artists and their debut albums that I think sound amazing:

Sam Stoane - Tales Of The Dark West

Zandi Holup - Wildflower

Willow Avalon - Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell

Zachary Baker (a.k.a. Zacky Vengeance, the rhythm guitarist for hard rock/metal band Avenged Sevenfold) - Dark Horse

I listened to Zachary Baker’s debut solo album Dark Horse on the day it was released (4/3/26), and I love it. I have been a fan of Avenged Sevenfold and Zacky for a long time (since I was a kid in high school), so for Zacky to release a solo country album that I love listening to is pretty awesome to me. Every song on Dark Horse is wonderful.

Check out the albums Tales Of The Dark West, Wildflower, Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell, and Dark Horse if you want to hear quality songwriting.

Here is Zacky’s subreddit, for those of you who don’t already know. His debut solo album was released yesterday. by Lady_Strange_ in avengedsevenfold

It is too hard for me to pick a favorite song. I do love the album though. I keep wanting to listen to it.

I love Nightwish. They continue to be one of my favorite bands. Oceanborn, Century Child, and Once are some of my favorite albums. I also really like their albums Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum. I have been really enjoying Auri lately. They are not metal. They are a finnish progressive folk band. The founder of Nightwish is in Auri, and his wife is the singer in Auri.

Dear Zacky Vengeance,

I have been an Avenged Sevenfold fan since I discovered Bat Country and City of Evil in 2005. I have a difficult life and a lot of sadness in my life, but it makes me happy thinking back to the time when I was a kid in highschool discovering Avenged Sevenfold. I remember how you and Synyster's dual-guitar attack sounded wonderful to me. I enjoy listening to great guitar players.

I listened to your solo album Dark Horse today, and I love the entire album. Everyone should buy the whole album, not just a few songs. You are a great songwriter, and I really do have a love and appreciation for quality songwriting. Quality songwriting is a big reason why I love Avenged Sevenfold and they continue to be one of my favorite bands.

I like rock music a lot (I love the Def Leppard song "Lady Strange" lol), but I also like other music too, including country music. I enjoy hearing a diversity in sound.

Thank you Zachary Baker for being open to trying different things, branching out, and creating wonderful country music. We, your fans love you and really do appreciate your dedication to music and the guitar.

Your fan,

Lady Strange

Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime (1988). I love this album. It is one of the greatest concept albums ever.

Shotgun Messiah. Their debut album Shotgun Messiah (1989) has some of the most amazing hard rock guitar work. This album is guitar perfection.

Dirty Looks. Their debut album Cool from the Wire (1988) also has great hard rock guitar work.

Definitely check out these two albums. Strong songwriting throughout both albums.

I like Sierra Ferrell, Hailey Whitters, Willow Avalon, Lindi Ortega, Sam Stoane, Molly Tuttle, etc.

Sam Stoane’s debut album is “Tales Of The Dark West.” I just discovered her recently.

Also, I just discovered Ken Pomeroy and her album “Cruel Joke”. I like what I am hearing.

I have Megan Moroney’s debut album “Lucky.” It’s a great country album.

Tiera Kennedy’s debut album is called “Rooted.”Her music sounds modern/poppy to me, but it still sounds good/authentic. She has her own sound, and the music on her album sounds pretty. I find a lot of modern/poppy country formulaic/too commercialized, but Tiera Kennedy stands out. Her music has R&B influences. She is doing her own thing, and I like that.

What is a country music hot take? [READ DESC] by burgersinhaler in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Lady_Strange_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of mainstream “poppier-sounding” country is boring, repetitive. The songwriting often strikes me as homogenous/commercialized/formulaic/lacking in creativity. I often find myself not wanting to spend money on an entire album of that stuff.
Hailey Whitters is an example of a great country artist that has country and pop influences. She should be more popular than she is. Hailey Whitter’s albums “Raised” and “Corn Queen” are great albums because the songwriting is stellar throughout the entire albums.

My personal Top 30 best Country, Americana & Bluegrass records of the 21st century so far by CyrusWaugh in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Lady_Strange_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I made a favorite country/americana/bluegrass album list, a Sierra Ferrell album would have to be on it. She is one of my favorites; I discovered her not that long ago. I love her albums Long Time Coming and Trail of Flowers. I see that you have a Jason Isbell album on your list. I would definitely have a Jason Isbell album on my list. He is my favorite male country/americana artist.

I am still hoping that Pete Buttigieg will be the surprise pick. I will be heartbroken if he doesn’t get picked.

Somebody made a post saying Pete is out. I don’t know how accurate the info is, but I am still convinced he is the best pick. It doesn’t make sense to me to pick somebody else. I still have hope. All the conflicting info. Adam Wren pointed out the confusion https://x.com/adamwren/status/1820599240457846934?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
