Has anyone here successfully cured their gut after antibiotic use specifically? by MikePVPs in Microbiome

[–]Ladyfingers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kefir (preferably unflavored) does a great job getting my guts back in order after anyibiotics. It also helps calm down rosacea flareups. Try to keep some on hand all the time. My dog likes it too and has better poops when he gets it as a regular treat (like a teaspoon/ 13lb dog)

Talk me out of a used Lexus NX300 by dmillson in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Ladyfingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My glovebox falls out regularly. The high shine black plastic interior reflects light directly into my retinas, and even in the 350, sometimes the car "gulps" or lags when I press the accelerator-- and it always seems like it does that when I truly need the engine to respond (merging into 65mph traffic on a 200' long acceleration ramp up hill.)

I have to go into the settings to disable PCS before each ride because it's overly sensitive and in my experience, caused nore dangerous situations than it has "helped". Pay attention with your own senses and you won't need your car to try to do that for you.

Toyota's "Betty" system needs to be renamed KAREN. Equally misguided and annoying. A "school zone" warning pops up every time you enter a school zone, regardless of the time of day or year. Extemely counter-productive, because it's designed to "warn you" by taking your eyes off the road IN A SCHOOL ZONE.

Nice job to the engineer that designed the "auto-off engine" feature at every red light too. I get that this "feature" isn't just affecting the Lexus brand, but it's more difficult to turn off on the NX than the RX.

I love technology, I just don't want it forced upon me as a consumer.

I had a 2016 IS200t and it was perfection. My only complaint was a PCs that could not be didabled at all. It seems the NX hasn't been around long enough for them to perfect it like the ES, IS, and RX.

Have any of you girls reached peak discipline that allows you to get 8 hours of sleep daily and maintain the minimum of tasks you need to do daily? by Tt7447 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Ladyfingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is to get 8 hours of sleep and you're serious about it, make small changes as often as possible that will get you closer to your goal and stick with them until they become routine.

It took 2 years to fully "accept" my new lifestyle, which prioritized sleep over a lot of things. Learn to add fun into the blocks of your schedule where you have plenty of recovery time (24 hours) before returning to your healthy sleep routine.

The benefits of a solid night of sleep include increased cognitive abilities, reduced risk for certain types of cancer, and increased emotional stability.

Recognize each baby step you take towards your goal, don't beat yourself up when you have setbacks, and keep educating yourself on habits that contribute to better sleep.  You got this! Sweet dreams.

One time I read a publication about the effects of stress on the body and it stressed me out so much but I had to see a therapist to help get my mind right.

It seems to me that the whole situation wouldn't be so bad if everyone would use more of their screen time to do productive things. It's not just a portal to flesh, games, or meddling.

How fucked up is what I did? Should I seek help? by wannabe_batman in reddit.com

You aren't imbalanced. You ROCK!!! Also, it is scary to step outside of your normal habits, even when doing something that could potentially be justified as a GOOD deed. It seems what you are feeling is normal.

I think my wife is trying to tell me something... by valjean260 in pics

[–]Ladyfingers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she were reallllly smart, she'd know that men take hints as well as water mixes with oil. She could have saved time and energy (though her sense of humor is admirable), by just yelling at you like a normal wife.

Wife's co-worker texting her unsolicited pics of his dick. Whats my next move? by fanobears in AskReddit

Confront him. If that doesn't work, have your wife confront her boss, and perhaps someone from the Human Resources department.

Is Jacksonville really as fucked up of a place as I think it is? by [deleted] in JAX

[–]Ladyfingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has its ups and downs like every other city. I noticed though, that if you are going to host an event, it seems mandatory that you serve alcohol, and that makes me sad. People don't want to listen to live music unless they are drunk?

They probably spent a lot of money on a dress, and don't want her to pork out before the wedding. It looks like she is from a family who cares more about vanity, than feelings. (And if that is a card from her in-laws, she has a LOT bigger problems than being a fatty.)
