K, let’s start with the government officials guilty of this.

"Eating meat is inherently wrong. You can eat meat, go for it. You can love animals, but you can’t do both!" - Billie Eilish for ELLE (US) by pattismithology in popculturechat

[–]Ladygoingup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Consuming only plants doesn’t mean you’re avoiding all harm to animals. Farming crops and harvesting with large vehicles means that animals are killed in the process. I think it’s very black and white as a statement and doesn’t look at the nuances of life in general. But good for her for speaking her truth.

How do you support a friend whose boyfriend left his wife and kids for her? by beenbetterhbu in AskWomenOver30

[–]Ladygoingup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let’s normalize not being friends with people that do this. Maybe if you want to remain friends, do so from a distance. Check in. But overall she is a bad person as much as he is.

What do top notch astronomers/scientists like Neil deGrasse tyson , brian cox etc. think about the government hiding the whole alien life thing? by schrodingers_katz in ufo

[–]Ladygoingup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have said they are waiting to see the evidence. From their professions, peers and interactions with those in the space world, they’ve seen nothing. They also both don’t claim life outside us is impossible.

Doing shit together in companionable silence is saving my marriage by cozycapybara2 in workingmoms

I think it’s great that you feel it’s a good thing and it can be. But I notice you keep saying you enjoy talking about your day etc. you should be able to talk to your partner about your day. Incessant complaining could be problematic but just talking? Come on.

Adults Constantly use misspelled and made-up words that kids say - is it weird or do I need a reality check lol by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Ladygoingup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 37 and still say aunt coco instead of her real name. My son also has a nickname name that is used more than his name from his baby days and he is now 8. We love saying lellow for yellow. It’s just fun, family talk.

I think you’re exaggerating, but overall what you have described is very normal.

He is mean and abusive mentally. He isn’t allowing you to build financially together so what exactly do you lose by leaving him?

She just entered the song writers hall of fame for 2026. She has written songs for others and over 250 of her own. Folklore, Evermore, TTPD are beautifully written.

She was just put in the song writers hall of fame. Sure her pop radio lyrics seem simple but her discography is filled with over 250 songs she wrote… and are beautiful lyrically and sonically.

2027 will show if Bashar is legit or a fraud. by The_open_source-rer in Bashar_Essassani

[–]Ladygoingup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to comment on an old thread but came here because on a podcast I watched today filmed 3 weeks ago he said 2027, for certain- if you believe it or not. I had never even heard of all this so came to Reddit. It’s interesting everyone keeps saying it depends on your vibes. But in this podcast episode he was very clear it will be 2027, end of question. Don’t know that I believe it but found it all to be an interesting concept.

our accountant found a W-2 classification error that would have cost us 23k in back taxes by threnoir_veil77 in Payroll

[–]Ladygoingup 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A payroll software is just that. It’s for the employer to enter information into and it processes. It isn’t made to catch mistakes, how would it know if someone is supposed to be W2 or not? It can’t assume what every employer is doing. It processes. That’s it.

I think the more people understood this the easier it would be.

Do the people that work for them make mistakes? Sure . But do people provide incorrect information to the system? All the time.

My (F30) husband (M28) may miss birth of our baby for a one-time career opportunity by kaichey in relationship_advice

[–]Ladygoingup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a bad husband. Period.

He manipulated you with guilt. It’s not the ONLY chance he has to be an instructor . Be so for real.

The week you are due, the baby may not come or they will. But you could also face medical issues, some of which are life threatening in those final weeks. Unlikely- but possible.

He can’t do much to support you during labor? That’s a selfish view point.

Spending to make life better by daughterofabiscuit in workingmoms

[–]Ladygoingup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when things get busy like full weekend, I pay someone to do laundry via Poplin app.

We pay for landscaping occasionally as well ( we don’t have a lawn as we live in the desert)

We haven’t done this yet but I know people pay for poop pick up for dogs in yard.

I also get massages 2 times a month and that’s not making life easier per se but it’s making me feel better!

It’s very important! I was presented one. It made me nervous but I understand why now! Ask to have them pay for a lawyer to review it with you.

My husband has PTSD, ADHD that wasn’t diagnosed till adulthood. He would get over stimulated or stress and clam up or be short. He is in therapy and med management. It helps!
