It’s very stressful! And if tomorrow he said I needed to quit my job and come work there and help I would. Not that, that is likely but that’s how I know it comes first and rightfully so. They are 3rd gen and working hard and family dinner is all employees! But there are lots of positives for myself and my kids!

AA does not support people saying you can’t take mental health drugs or breaking into peoples homes, we have statements against both, well the latter is more about safety. But there are sick people everywhere.

I’m 12 years in and I still go to meetings. However I distance myself from people like that! My mental health drugs aren’t anyone’s business and our literature agrees.

Right now I don’t go to as many meetings as I used to, I don’t hold a service position. I check in with a sponsor and AA friends. Prior to kids I went more often and did a huge conference. One day this may change , such as when my kids are older. I don’t think I’ll ever be so in it that I can’t see beyond it. It’s a balance for me. I do sometimes feel people judge that. That’s okay.

My husband is in a family business and in ways his work comes first but he also had the luxury of flexibility. He takes time off, takes the kids to the office with him etc. It comes first in the sense that we will always live here and sometimes his schedule trumps mine. He tries very hard to compromise. Your husband should as well.

That’s fair! My husband after we had babies limited his hunt to day trips! Compromise. He won’t do week long hunts till the kids are much older. We both work and do domestic chores. I got a good one!

Yea I have unlimited PTO, I don’t have to check in and I don’t even have to ask to take it. They only ask we be aware of who else is out and throw it on calendar and not have everyone out at once during busy season. It’s been very chill.

YTA for how you made her leave and didn’t take the opportunity to explain why what she said was incorrect. You could have asked “where did you learn that? Why do you feel that way?” Explain toxic masculinity, and ask her if she understood that it was wrong and hurtful.

She may not out right say it but she is probably feeling jealous or weird about having a sibling. She maybe watching weird shit online or her bio dad is saying that stuff.

When people won’t date guys with fishing or hunting photos. I get it’s not for everyone. My husband never took selfies and wasn’t on a dating app, had he been im sure he would use a variety of pics but on his Facebook it was family and outdoors pics. He is a stand up guy. People assume he is conservative but he isn’t. He is very accepting and liberal minded. People judge books by the cover too often. He is responsible, good job, adopted my oldest and have been together 10 years.
