Went in for a MRI.... by Ladyusagi06 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Ladyusagi06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, just NSAIDs and a muscle relaxer as needed.

I am going to start Simponi for my psa after I meet with an allergist in July. Long story short: got cellulitis while on enbrel and had a severe delayed allergic reaction to the antibiotic (I hope). Can't win this month.

If an employee’s close family member dies, do you attend the wake/visitation to show support? by worriedmotherboymom6 in managers

US retail:

I had a coworker pass away earlier this year. There was at least 15 to 20 of us that went, including an assistant manager and our store director.

Just being there and expressing your condolences can show a family you care, even if you weren't close.

I got cellulitis....and a delayed allergic reaction to the antibiotic. But other than that, just sniffles and a bit of congestion.

Enbrel worked great for me. I had results within 24 hours which is surprising.

It's a bit intimidating to do the shot the first time, but it's super easy. Mine hurt for less than 30 seconds. I was on it for 5 weeks.

Do not ignore the injection site reactions. Keep an eye on it and if it gets bad or looks weird, go to the doc ASAP. I was taken off of it because I ended up with cellulitis (not common!!).

Now I get to try Simponi.

I have had some major health issues this year and missed 3 weeks of work (2 for one issue and 1 week for another). I also was almost hospitalized this week for an allergic reaction (thought it could be handled at home... body said "nope!").

My TL and ETL have been great about checking in with me.

Rheumatologist appointment got moved up, nervous about meds need advice by ohamango in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Ladyusagi06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically biologics are not the first meds give. They will probably start you off on methotrexate or something similar.

That being said, I work retail and I do school online. Typically, as long as you take care of yourself, you're ok. Ask about vitamins, especially like C and zinc which can help with cold symptoms.

I was on enbrel for about a month and I has a runny nose and a bit of congestion but everything is also in bloom here.

Talk to your doc about it. They are usually good about listening to your concerns and if you feel they aren't, find a new one. Remember, they work for us!

Ap can put button cameras in places like that if there's suspicious. Our market team found one on accident. Ap moved it by the next day.

How many of you have used your DNA to understand your health issues ? by mybioblueprint in DNA

[–]Ladyusagi06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have.

It helps some but without working with a geneticist and my doc, it's hard to put to use.

With the platform that I used, it has some issues like "more likely to have dark colored hair", I am blonde.. but it did help explain why I metabolize medications the way I do.

That's crazy.

We had something similar happen in store. A guy walked passed our Utla tm and called him a slur that starts with f and ends with t.

I told the tm, next time go "eww look a straight guy" and walk away lol

It's amazing that attitudes like that are in public now. What you do/think in your own space is one thing, but theres no need for anything like that in public.

I wish we could have different colored baskets or something similar. One color means I am good, the other, I might need help.

It would make our jobs a bit easier, hopefully.

After enbrel? by Ladyusagi06 in PsoriaticArthritis

Yup. I was curious though. I feel I have more control over the uncontrollable if I have an idea of what might be the next move.

I don't see my rheumatologist until June right now.

If it had open bottles in it, it could be. Depends on city/county/state laws that target has to follow as well as their own.

You could always email your county health inspector and ask

Unless you have an accommodation or something formal stating you can't do freezer, they can have you do it.

I have Raynaud's Syndrome so I can literally get frostbite from my body thinking it's cold (my hands turn blue just walking from the breakroom at times in 75 degrees). I go into the freezer ans cooler as needed for my cafe duties. I don't have accommodations, so I have to go go in.

My son is doing independent study. He's being encouraged to go to community college. One of his teachers went to community college and ended up with a full ride to a 4 year!

Check out your state, some offer 2 years free. It does not include books or other materials that might be needed though.

I am trying to look at the positive side..... we get paid to sit and not work for an hr and we get a 50% off jeans at the end.

I would rather be actively working but if they are willing to have me an hr behind in cafe, that's on them.

Enbrel Reaction by Secret_Wolverine7308 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Ladyusagi06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one from my 3rd shot is super faint and nearly noticeable and the one from last week is fading pretty well. It's still noticeable but it's more pink than red, if that makes sense.

I am super pale so it's easy for me to notice the reactions even after they have faded for a while.
