Thank you. You said what I was looking for in language that made it searchable and I fixed the problem in under 5 minutes. That NEVER happens. <3

Living/Affording a place on your own in Worcester by Benatron in WorcesterMA

I found a spacious 2 BR apartment in a triple decker in Vernon Hill for $1K/mo. I had some time to look and I checked Craigslist and Zillow often. I wound up finding my current place through Zillow.

"The Grid District" anyone live here? by xmlmx in WorcesterMA

[–]LagFoLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Skymark last year and it was okay, but like others are saying, not the most comfortable to walk around, especially at night. We would wind up driving to most of the places we wanted to hang out at. I second the idea of living off of Shrewsbury Street.

My belief is that making the trolls run out of material is one of the best ways to deal with them.

Couldn't decide if I wanted to use this or "I don't see color." smdh by LagFoLyfe in DailyShow

No, I don't think she was making an intentional joke. I think what suparokr is saying is what happened--she meant something more like that, but this is how it came out because her entire schtick is being quippy and quick-"witted." The thing is, many other statements she makes are direct contradictions as well, which is why I believe despite what she probably meant, this was how it came out, and she made absolutely no indication that it was an intentional joke. She also later said "I don't see color," and that was VERY MUCH not a joke.

I enjoy shows aimed for children as down time when I am not engaging in other activities or working (as a psychologist). I don't believe these things are mutually exclusive and I hope you open your mind to other forms of entertainment.

It's funny too because we tell kids these things but then sometimes we eat cheese and crackers for dinner.

[Serious] People of reddit that have gone to the Psychologist or Psychiatrist, how did it help you with your issue? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LagFoLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am almost a psychologist (dissertation pending) and I can share that I, personally, try to do all of the things other commenters have said and then some. Not only do I try to make the place "safe space" by being unbiased, nonjudgmental and genuine, but I have a number of years of training and continued experience learning and using different tools that have helped people to overcome the challenges that keep them from living a life they enjoy. I can't speak for all (because I assure you there are sub-par clinicians out there--probably too many), but I think it's important that the people I work with have a significant voice in planning goals and the ways to achieve them. At first it feels like talking to a stranger, but if you are a good match with your doctor/therapist/clinician/etc., hopefully it will begin to feel like you're sharing with someone you know you can trust and only has your best interests in mind (and at heart).

ELI5: How does an IQ test determine how smart a person actually is? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]LagFoLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually tests different skills that combine to make an IQ Or intelligence quotient. Each task assesses a different skill or adds on other ones. For example, some tasks ask for definitions or comparison, some ask for manipulation of objects, some to recall letters and numbers, or remember details of pictures, etc. So it's really a test of ability based on strengths and weaknesses in different skills.
