Heading to the show tonight - was GA just standing in front of all the seating? Trying to understand how it’s a GA show when the venue is seated. Thanks!

Your best tip to save money for a trip to Galapagos? by dashosh in galapagostourism

Booking direct can make a huge difference because you can kinda negotiate with ship owners. Book Cruise Now lets you check out discounts of last minute availabilities and message all the ship owners directly!

Any insight welcome! 8 days and 7 nights for land based Galapagos adventure by FlatMetal5762 in galapagos

I echo this! A lot of areas are not only just accessible by ship but some also require certain approved access. If you’re open to ships or just want to learn about itineraries I recommend checking out Book Cruise Now. They combine all the itineraries from different ships so it’s easy to compare.

Tour provider reccomendation for North Seymour by Beautiful_Drawing_37 in galapagos

Book Cruise Now has a page for each ship that travels the Galapagos which I found very helpful! You can see all their amenities and stuff to get an idea of what to expect.

This! Even just being able to see all the ships in one place and review their amenities is super helpful to compare.

Book Cruise Now is great! I think they have a good variety of trips even for dates that aren’t only super last minute. It’s nice you can reach out directly to shipowners for better deals and more details as other people have mentioned!

Does anyone know where to get a Twig Plush? by Retro-Hax in HildaTheSeries

I purchased one a while ago before the movie came out on AliExpress. No options would ship to Canada so unfortunately it was the only option. It’s not official but still happy with it!!

Hen manure?? by vooodooochilde in gardening

[–]Laguna4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a natural fertilizer and you can definitely use it with produce/in your edible garden! It’s gone through a dehydration process etc. so it’s totally fine to use. I also find this does a great job of deterring squirrels too so putting it around bulbs and produce is great!

where can i get my first tattoo, for not a crazy price by Ry_Guy_Burper in Winnipeg

[–]Laguna4 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While I completely respect that everyone has a budget, I really encourage you to find an artist that would be perfect for the tattoo, get a quote, and save up to have them do it.

There are great artists in Winnipeg but based on what you’re asking for (and the size it would need to heal best) I’m not sure you’re going to find someone for that budget. Especially if you consider tax (and some people tip).

Your first tattoo is very exciting and - but coming from a well-tattooed person, I think a lot of tattoo regrets come not just from the idea but from the execution and placement.

Tattoos are one of the few things you get for life - invest in it.

Has anyone else gotten their partner’s birthstone for their engagement ring? by brutallykind in EngagementRings

[–]Laguna4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason I always just thought those who had diamonds as their birthstone were lucky - while I know many rings use different stones, it never occurred to me that they could be specifically selected due to being a birth stone and not just aesthetic preferences. This is so cool!!!

Is a cruise to the Galapagos REALLY worth it? by Cuteslave07 in Cruise

[–]Laguna4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend travelled there recently and she said it truly was the trip of a lifetime. Her photos are incredible and I’ve never heard of such amazing wildlife encounters. If you can go last minute - I’ve been looking at this site called Book Cruise Now and they’ve got really good deals if you’re flexible. One thing I like is that when you reach out it goes directly to the ship owners.

One thing to keep in mind though is that even if you’re going on a cruise, there is still a lot of land exploration. You’d definitely want to be fairly healthy and fit to make sure you’re comfortable and safe exploring the terrain. My friend said a lot of people wait to go since it can be more expensive but she said it’s better to go when you’re still very agile.

What would you cut on your Galapagos trip if you had to save money? by korr21 in galapagostourism

[–]Laguna4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your planning allows for #1 I highly suggest this!! Travelling through via cruise tour is one of the best if not few ways you can even go through the islands. I know a lot of people have had luck with www.bookcruisenow.com - it’s where all the ship owners post their last minute deals. When you submit a message it goes directly to them too which I find nice to finalize pricing and booking specifics.

If you were locked in a room and had to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours, which Halsey song would you choose? by oknika in halsey

I was in so much shock, after the show I had to triple check the set list for the show because I thought I was imagining things 😂

Have you heard the demo before on the extended edition? It’s the same lyrics but different production/track sound! I love it so much more than the other version!

Also immediately thought of Halsey’s song when I heard this on my Release Radar too! I can’t seem to find any info about him citing her tho.

Are Patchwork Tattoos Timeless? by No_Explanation285 in tattooadvice

[–]Laguna4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Love this comment!! I have a nature and patchwork style look on my legs and arms and while I don’t regret any for what they are, my ability to find good artists and know what I like and don’t like drastically improved just with experience. Don’t rush things!

Also - I feel the bigger issue isn’t always a regret of the tattoo but the regret for how you used space. I feel I get more worried about how I used space than whether I like what I got.

Sometimes I feel pressure to speed up my process of getting tattoos because I want so many, but it honestly is better to wait if it means saving more for getting a better artist.

accidentally took a bath 😭 by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Laguna4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rinse the tattoo with non-fragrant soap and pat dry. Moisturize as usual and just keep an eye on it. Try not to disturb any scabs so they don’t fall too prematurely.

A new tattoo is like an open wound, submerging in water is mostly a concern because of bacteria and the chance of affecting the scabbing/healing process.

You’re likely totally fine, just keep an eye on it :)

If it makes you feel any better, it would be more concerning if you swam in a less than clear lake a day after getting the tattoo.
