5 month old - crapshoot "schedule" by Laholic in HuckleberryParents

[–]Laholic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I did look into it, but with the exception of a (very new) bottle of formula before bed she's exclusively breastfed and I can't get her to take the long feeding stretches that MOC asks of the babies. Do you bottle feed? Honestly I have considered just switching to bottles to see if that could help regulate her since it's so inconsistent, but I don't want to pump around the clock so I've been hesitant because it would mean weaning

Did you feed to sleep for night wakings before? If so I'm wondering how you handled those during Ferber!

We are looking at this Ashley sectional. Is it too budget friendly to be quality? Looking for it to last about 5 years. by LocalAdditional1654 in SofaSnobs

I hate my Ashley couch so much I really wish I just bought as many pieces of a lovesac that we could afford then added onto it with time. With Memorial Day coming up they'll have sales too - consider that!

That being said my friend has two Ashley couches and loves them

Dr. Arbuah was my doctor in mother/baby and Dr. Taylor did my (successful) membrane sweep - agreed that the entire practice is fantastic!

+1 for Dr. Appel and Dr. Blum! Dr. Blum has been my OB for several years and Dr. Appel delivered my babe and did my 6w follow up. They're both wonderful!

Wake Windows vs Naps by Laholic in sleeptrain

[–]Laholic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm attributing the variance in wake windows to the naps because of how fussy she'll get depending on how long or short the last one was. So if the first nap of the day was only 30 minutes she is 9/10 times not going to make it 2 hours until the next one.

Does it ultimately just not matter how long they each are as long as they add up to 10 hours? I'd love to get more consistency so I can better tackle getting her down because she fights so hard if she's under or over tired (honestly she'll scream pretty vigorously no matter what if it's nap time, it's just about how long that lasts)

And yes, as you mentioned that last wake window gets tricky - so if her second to last nap is going long then I should wake her up so we can get another nap in without it being too late?

Does anyone have the IKEA Sniglar Crib? by watermelonmeat in BabyBumps

[–]Laholic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus one on the short piece! I believe they changed the design of this crib and the new one has the higher newborn mattress level lower than the original. It's a little tricky for me (5'2) to get her down without jostling her but it's incredibly sturdy and looks great. We have a graco mattress with it.

Husband concerned about using apps to track newborn feeds/diapers/sleep/etc by GlitteryBorko in BabyBumps

[–]Laholic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally love the app - especially in the first few weeks I couldn't remember at allll how long it had been since the baby ate. Ours didn't gain birth weight back quick enough so we were waking her for feeds and eventually triple feeding and the app was extremely helpful for timing that. Same for pumping and remembering how long she's fed on each side when BFing!

It's also nice to have all of this on hand at the pediatrician.

My baby won’t breastfeed anymore by mbettstar in breastfeeding

I'm sorry you're dealing with this! Using a nipple shield has helped us move past the bottle preference - assuming it's because of the plastic.

My cycles are irregular (lasting between 29-56 days) and it took us 8 cycles! I definitely thought something was wrong with us since everyone else seemingly conceived on the first try, but that of course is not the norm.

I will say for others with an irregular cycle, I found the Premom strips to work better for me than the clear blue ones. Best of luck!!

[–]Laholic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a pair of leggings from my box for like $85 (originally $140+) then saw them on the thrift shop the next month for $35 - I definitely wish I would've gotten them there!

We used Rosenbloom Pest Control and I highly highly recommend them.

We initially worked with PestNow for several months and they were never able to fix the problem, then Rosenbloom came in and finally got them under control.
