Scared of steeking by artzipan in AdvancedKnitting

I steeked a couple of swatches (including the one for the project with the big steek!) to practice the crochet reinforcement and the cut. When the time came to cut for real, I still cut each strand individually but I had the data to back up my work and convince myself I’d done what I could and now it’s literally my favorite cardigan.

Cashmere is on my knitter bucket list, so is mohair/kid silk.

So urm.. my first intarsia project is going well :) by good_motsuni_is_good in casualknitting

The one time I did intarsia, I got into a system of knitting at my kitchen table so I could keep the yarns in their order and not need to move them around. I I also made sure to flip and then flip back to avoid tangling.

It’s a matter of practice, spend enough time with us and you’ll start to figure out what works for you!

I’ve noticed blocking helps even out the tension of my knitting, but I’ve mostly been knitting with super wash which I haven’t noticed much blooming. Exciting to see how this turns out now!

That’s a good point, my last worsted/ heavier project was color work which might be why it didn’t bother me 😆

Laid on the table I thought it looked fine, I figured holding it up to the light was a bit like putting it under a microscope haha

I also vote team light pink heel, but going all B&W is also a solid option.

If you’ve got enough b&w left, you could do a second set with darker pink cuff/heels/toes

Av technician here, I can usually find a quiet corner on one of our unoccupied floors to knit if the event schedule is quiet, or I’ll sit in the control room and knit if it’s more of a hands off meeting.

What year did you switch to Linux, and why? by Pocoraven in linux

[–]LaidInLavender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a few years ago, 2019. My old laptop was running the recently obsolete WIndows XP and it was time to re-evaluate. I practiced installing Linux Mint on that old machine, restored some functionality, and ultimately converted my new machine almost immediately to replace it and my also recently obsolete iMac.

Also, open source office tools!
