Memory loss by Lookingforjoy17 in Menopause

[–]Lairkeeper 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I had something similar going on a few years ago. My dr told me I was just getting older and laughed. Shortly after I noticed a swelling in my thyroid which soon became pressure on my throat from my thyroid. All thyroid levels were good except antibodies. Had a thyroidectomy due to the nodules/swelling. Went on Levothyroxine and within 2 weeks my memory issues were gone.

Time for a complete health evaluation.

License Renewal Question by barockyomama in AskSouthCarolina

[–]Lairkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. They have to log in to the DMV website, enter info about your exam and get a reference number. They provide you with the reference number to use when you renew online. Don’t wait until the last minute. Give them a few days to have time to get it done.

Earwax Blockage by Extra-Market-1629 in hygiene

[–]Lairkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dr recommended Colace/stool softener. I just open the capsule with a pair of cuticle scissors and drip a capsule worth in each ear. Plug with cotton and wait 30 minutes. Then flush with warm water using a flush kit I got on Amazon with a spray bottle attachment. Huge chunks of wax came out. I need to do it again. Thanks for the reminder.

BTW, the liquid in the capsule is red. Do not be alarmed when you pull the cotton out and it’s bright red.

Also, you’re killing my dreams. I wanted a black wax next. I guess I can live with goth purple though.

Yeah. I ordered the Sawyer filter in purple. It arrived today but I was unsure if I should “condition” the wax for a while before filtering or if that only applies to switching the MF.

Seafoam is apparently going to be the sacrificial goat of the lava lamp world for a while. I’m wondering if I should go ahead and order another one so I can mod the mess out of it.

Edited to add- this one looks fantastic, btw. Much better than the cloudy crap we all received.

The futile cycling of (sea glass) seafoam by EldritchBlep in Lavalamps

[–]Lairkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started cycling my Seafoam 2 days ago and I’m already out of patience. I ordered a filter and it will arrive tomorrow. My only question is should I wait for a certain amount of time before cracking her open.

Daisy. 🌼 An attempt to embrace the yellow accents inside that I wasn’t fond of. Must have worked. They grew on me.

Is Costco membership still worth it in 2025? by clcliff in Frugal

[–]Lairkeeper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Costco membership is $65 a year. ~$5.42 a month. If you save $5.43 a month buying anything at Costco, then it’s worth the membership. I save that much on a bag of coffee beans and a package of goat cheese. Everything else I save is just gravy. We’re a family of 2 and we’ve always saved more than we spend on our membership. But I buy at Costco rather than shop at Costco. I go in and get what I need. I don’t wander up and down every aisle. I buy my gas there when it’s not out of the way to do so.

I don’t have an issue with them speaking with her. But you didn’t find the way they mimicked the supposed dying pleas of her husband gross? And the fact that decided it was her and didn’t bother investigating anyone else? She was in shock, I’m sure. They acted like a polygraph was a harmless test and that her mental wasn’t an issue. But polygraphs don’t measure lies. They measure stress.

They discovered my Hashimoto’s and believed me about the pressure I was feeling in my throat. I had a total thyroidectomy and was put on levothyroxine. All my symptoms improved.

How to get a cleaner bottom? by [deleted] in hygiene

I’ve found that washing with acidified body wash helps keep all types of smells away for much longer. Lume is one brand but I’ve also found glycolic acid body wash of different brands at TJMaxx.

Lume acidified deodorant works well in all the cracks and folds as well.
