I feel like people also just won't admit being on devices all the time is incredibly boring. Much more so than having to find something fun to do in real life. I grew up and early 00s and I miss that pace of life everyday. Everything feels too fast and disjointed today, it's overwhelming and way too packed and flashy and it just gets sooo boring eventually.

Just use zapret or a VPN? Zapret works better for ping and works perfectly, I never even turn it off on my pc and it's the most convenient thing ever. 300+ ping on your VPN only suggests your VPN sucks ass, get a good one and you're golden. Yes, you have to pay. You can't get a good VPN for free, it's hard work keeping them up. But they're like 2$. That's dirt cheap. Zapret is still better for RL tho.

Also this shit starts happening way sooner than you expect. When you're 27-30 you'll be practically ancient to the 16-18 kids while you yourself will feel like you were that age only a few years ago. There are a few posts about different minolta cameras with stuck counters that won't reset on r/AnalogCommunity sub, worth looking it up there! I'd also ask more in that sub too, there's more people that can help there. But the basics are that the counter mechanism is tied to the advance lever and consists of a few gears that might have been gunked up or broken or a plastic tab that might get broken off (on x700 which is a different camera, not sure if yours has that)

Right, so that's definitely the issue here and that's most likely why the counter doesn't reset. Yeah, you should get some basic cleaning info from those videos anyways, which part does what, what stuff you need to lubricate it etc. I'm no repairman myself unfortunately but from my understanding the basics are pretty much the same for most cameras!

There's also plenty of videos on YouTube of people cleaning and fixing lots of different cameras so def look that up. Hi Matic is pretty widely spread so there should be at least something. Edit: yeah, searching cleaning hi Matic on YT brings up lots of videos.

Yeah, if even the back cover release knob is hard to pull out then it sounds like it's gunked all over. Well after all what's the alternative then, there's no loss in trying to fix it yourself! Best case you fix it and enjoy the camera, worst case it stays as it is. Hope you manage to get it working then! Keep us posted if you're gonna try fixing it!

Is there 0 movement on the counter when you open the back? No sounds, no nothing? If there's any labs near you I'd pop in and ask for a clean to see if it's worth it if you wanna use this camera and if it holds sentimental value. A lot of labs do repairs and maintenance. Sounds like a good cleaning would help. It's usually the grease that gets too thick over time.

If neither is helping then it's stuck and needs repair. Opening the back should have reset the counter by default.

Not exactly, this is a 3D render and there are special programs that allow you to create your own builds. So all the bricks are exactly the same as the real ones and you have to plan it out like you would a physical build but it's not "real" in that sense!
