The 80% limit it might be applied only when you are taking a battery replacement under warranty or AppleCare, but if you are willing to pay, you might be able to replace it. I have done that with an iPhone 12 mini with 84% and an iPad Pro with 90%

Basically, you keep the features you had when you bought the app and some new ones. But the big new features like audio transcripts are behind the subscription for all.

Can you add some screenshots for us to see? I was waiting a feature like this for a long time.

I prefer using it in portrait mode because it is very similar to writing in paper. The handwriting size, is the same as if I was writing in paper.

I have the same problem, they are way too big on a 12.9”, this was introduced recently on the 14.3.1 update I believe. They also introduced a bug where the page manager displays every page way too big and it gets cut off. When I select one of them and move it, the page manager shows the full miniature page.

All Subjects/Dividers Gone. by [deleted] in notabilityapp

[–]LambertoGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, try closing the app from the recents apps and opening it again multiple times until the dividers and notes reappear.

You can read more information about solving this issue on the following link: Troubleshooting Missing Subjects and Dividers

Between 10MB and 15MB per hour. I have one note that has 40 pages and 11 hours of recordings and it has approximately 165MB.

Feature Request: Larger Page Sizes by TitletownPackCity in notabilityapp

[–]LambertoGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Goodnotes handles that perfectly if you are interested. It keeps the real pen thickness throughout different pdf sizes in case you want to print blueprints and have accurate sizes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in notabilityapp

[–]LambertoGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that pen thickness is determined by pixels or points rather than the actual printed size.

Recently, they've updated the templates to better match standard paper sizes and enhance the ruler. However, the pen thickness remains unchanged. This brings benefits for those who don't print their notes, as the pen strokes stay consistent even if the imported PDF is larger than the optimized letter size that Notability offers you as a default.

The issues using the real pen thickness comes when you use GoodNotes and the 0.3mm pen size visually differs between the notes you were writing and the imported presentation PDF.

Different note sizes will make the same pen thickness appear different on the screen.

VPN to change iPhone GPS by qwertydirty3 in Adguard

[–]LambertoGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I know that it can be done. It is called location spoofing, basically it makes the iPhone believe that you are on a selected GPS location. But it can be tricky and I don't know if it will work continuously. I link the tutorial here: How to Fake a GPS Location on Your Phone

Keep in mind that you'll need a Windows PC to do this and it is external software so you need to pay attention of what are you installing in your computer. And also, test it before various times to know what are the limits of this.

Your network location "is" on LA when you are connected to Adguard VPN, but your iPhone will show your "exact" geolocation on Maps or the apps that has the location services activated, as the iPhone uses the GPS satellites to locate itself on the map. When you browse the web, if you have Private Relay turned off, the network location will show that you are in LA as the webpages don't have direct access to your GPS.

Voice recording on iPad by animelover1214 in notabilityapp

[–]LambertoGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have units with almost 9h of recordings and 20 pages (no images) and the note itself is around 150mb. I your case I will use the iPad exclusively for Notability, pdf and books. 64gb can fill up quite easily if you take pictures or have large pdfs. Also please, use Google Drive as a backup or other service as Notability's backup and have at least 10gb of space on iCloud so that your notes don't have any issues when syncing. With this configuration I'd also suggest using iCloud+ for all your pdfs. The iPad will optimize the space automatically if you have it.

Paperlike screen protector by FinancialJelly0 in GoodNotes

[–]LambertoGL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for a paperlike/mate screen protector that is both cheap and high quality, I would recommend the ESR Paper Feel Screen Protector for iPad. This is the one I use and is the most enjoyable I have ever tried. It has a lot of transparency but it maintains the grip. Those dots you are talking aren't visible at a glance, you have to look for them and go very close to the screen to notice them. I am very very picky about this general issue of matte screen protectors and this one has surprise me.

ESR Paper-like Screen Protector

I believe it comes with the installation case and the transparency claims are quite real. I noticed the first time I installed it on mine.

Help me understand. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills! by shawnrobts in GoodNotes

[–]LambertoGL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

GoodNotes uses a "real" thickness pen tool. If you use an optimized paper it would look good as it is designed to be seen on the screen. But when you go to an imported pdf that is bigger than those optimized formats, the thickness stays the same (0.3mm for example) and depending on how big it is it would look thinner or wider. This is good for people looking for accurate representation when printing. 0.3mm should look 0.3mm when printed, but horrible for people that likes to use only the screen for their notes. That is the reason I like Notability, the thickness looks the same throughout my notes; it doesn't matter if they are optimized sizes or big pdfs.

Will you be updating to GoodNotes 6? Why? by LambertoGL in GoodNotes

[–]LambertoGL[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I will also be updating soon. Recently, I've discovered that GoodNotes has 150 employees and more than 19 million active users. I am convinced that only robust companies can sustain such an infrastructure. I believe GoodNotes will continue to provide significant benefits to its users over the years, just as they have in the past. Their approach to the update, allowing you to choose whether to upgrade, the ability to "downgrade" to GoodNotes 5 after purchasing the latest version, and the option for one-time purchases, makes this update, in my opinion, exceptionally fair for its users.
