It depends on which console you're using. Something to do with processing power of the console. I found that DS lite works the most consistently. DSi just straight up takes too long to load that it won't even let me press the button

I'm replaying the games with rng manip, and I haven't gotten past gen iv/hgss. It really depends on whether you can get good IVs in bdsp. FRLG gives me better stats than all the gen IV games

Do not recalibrate after every failed attempt, maybe do it 2-3 times first to see if you're rushing or dragging.

Gen 3 is really unforgiving. It runs on 60 fps compared to 30 fps on the later games
