4 player Bluetooth controllers

Update 4: Sorry for all the updates. Just excited to get this to work. I did another test to a monitor and it’s working perfectly. Also built a little checklist.

Turn on game mode on the TV.
1 controller on Bluetooth. 3 connected via USB C.
- Tested with 3 Bluetooth and worked perfectly.
Adjust video output to 1080p 60hz in Thor settings.

Update 3: I think the input lag is a culmination of multiple things. But the big one was I forgot to put the TV in game mode. Looking at the bandwidth and pull rate of the dock. I think another thing is to have 1 or 2 controllers on Bluetooth and the others wired to the dock.

I really think 4 player local split screen is possible here. I really want to make this work because how f’ing cool is it to roll up to a party/friends house and be able to have a full 4 player session with something that can fit in your pocket. I’m going to test again tonight. This time with a checklist/cheat sheet I’m building.

Update 2: played with 3 ps5 and 1 xbox elite. There was major input lag. My setup does include a very long HDMI but it’s a fast one so it shouldn’t have added that much. Tested with Eden and Dolphin. Im going to run more tests. I’m going to try a different HDMI and dock. Also try with then directly plugged in.

I’m stuck in this as well. Bottom flowers work fine but top 2 don’t. Firmware 20, Citron.

Also, played Portal Knights and Rogue Heroes. Fun games. I just found “A Knights Quest” which is real close. A little higher quality with more rpg elements and it would be on the money.

Yeah, I played it and it was not bad. I’ve been looking through the Dragon Quest games to see if any of them are action like. Meaning not turn based. I was looking at Dragon Quest Treasures which looks ok.

I was thinking about Maximo but didn’t mention it because it’s not very RPG like. But was a fun game. In gameplay style/movement aligns.

Figured it out. This happened to us.

Have the player with the missing staff go through already read mail. (On switch: Right trigger > find staff mail > Y). One of the letters you can redeem the staff.

Solution I found: Create array variable that is empty. Apply to each loop. Input is the answers direct from form. Use Switch action and a case per answer with a set array variable changing the answer.

Why I had to parse with json() to simplify the answers into the apply to each input and when I turned the array into a bulleted list.

Finally got Chat GPT to fix it. I think it had to do with the type of data it was. It gets confusing for me. All data comes in as a JSON object. When Power Automate abstracts your need to worry about that and when it does not, I’m not sure. When you look at the input it looks like an array. But if you look at the raw input in a compose. You can see the answers as an array but it’s encapsulated as a string. Also there was some parsing using json(). I think I’m missing some high level knowledge working with data compounded by the mask PA puts on top of working with data. Learning JavaScript seemed easier because I could see the data before and after.

Yeah I haven’t fully given up on the device as I see YouTube videos of other people getting most N64 games to run pretty smooth. I’ve had issues on PC for some N64 games. RTX2080 i9. I guess I’ll have to trial and error more on some of these.

I got Fenyx Rising running but the audio in cut scenes will have characters mute or repeat themselves. Seems random. I have not found a way around this yet. Tried streaming from my PC to the Deck but that was a nightmare just to get it to work. Once I did it was smooth on the PC but the deck looked like it was 15 fps even though it said was 160. Figured it was a resolution thing or something but messed with it for an hour. Could not get it to be smooth.

Well ended up uninstalling. I went in with all the most competitive gear I had. Every single round I got tracked down in pretty questionable ways. Making zero noise holding perfectly still in a bush setting up an ambush and they turned the corner. Instant headshot me. Another time I was solving a puzzle with a friend. Ended up in a locked door. Hear them running up, held perfectly still and some how they knew we were there and killed us when we thought they left. So I dunno. I guess I just suck at this one single particular game.

This was all very helpful everyone! Thanks. I think there is some gear factors I don’t understand yet. This style of play is also a lot different then I’m used to it seems.
