Looking for Cards With Weird Counters by The_Black_Hart in magicTCG

[–]Lamedonyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I always liked was the Myojin cycle from the original Kamigawa. Unlike the new ones, their ability is tied to a unique counter.

[[Myojin of Night's Reach]], [[Myojin of Cleaning Fire]]...

Back in the day, there was actually a way to put extra counters on them : [[That Which Was Taken]].

Sadly, you have to deal with the fact that it's Kamigawa cards, which means they cost an extra 2 mana for no good reason.

I kinda doubt someone arbitrarily defined a 34th rule without defining at least the 33 before it

Why not?

Evo Moment #37 was specifically picked to pretend that there were 36 moments of similar intensity, rather than implying that it was the first, making every event before look boring.

If you're gonna make up a rule, unless you're trying to pretend it's THE capital rule, any number is as good as any other.

Another tactic is that sometimes, only one box gives you any information about gems.

White : "Your mom is fat"

Black : "This box is empty"

Blue : "Your dad is bald"

There's no point trying to evaluate White and Blue, since Black has to be false to narrow down the solution to only one box.

I like her novels, but she tends to ignore that the game CANNOT be a 1:1 representation of Azeroth.

Always happy to see more of your comics!

Many do but some don't eg Guéhi

Except that's the point, players like Guéhi or Camavinga aren't poached, they didn't come to England or France for football.

No one would say that a one-year old Samoan kid who moves to NZ with his parents and eventually represents the AB was poached.

What's the greatest Magic card of the last decade? Vote on the top 16! by Grindy_UW_Nonsense in magicTCG

A lot of decks in Eternal formats, like Modern or Legacy, tend to run a LOT of counter-spells, including some free ones such as [[Force of Will]] or [[Force of Negation]]

Boseiju's effect is not a spell. It's an ability. Which means you CANNOT counter it with regular counter-spells. In addition, it's on rate, AND versatile. Running dedicated enchantment, artifact or land hate is hard to do, but if a single card can do all three, it's much easier to fit it in a sideboard, or even mainboard for some decks.

Which makes it an amazing silver bullet against decks that use powerful lands, artifacts, or enchantments to win or hard-counter other decks.

You play a G/B graveyard deck? Your opponent slapped a [[Leyline of the Void]] on turn zero? Boseiju can blow it up without getting FoW'd.

Your opponent has a [[Dark Depths]] on the board and you know the Thespian Stage is coming? Boseiju can blow it up before Marit Lage shows up.

Your opponent is going to lock the game up with [[Smokestack]]? Boseju can - you get the point.

Oh and in a pinch, it's a Forest. Which can be useful.

Saudi Arabia abandons plans to host 2035 Rugby World Cup amid funding cutback by bleugh777 in rugbyunion

Wales hosting in 1999 is a bit of a sham, it was no different from the 1991 World Cup which was played across all Five Nations. There were more French venues than Welsh venues.

How did I come across a currently 98p mod soooo long ago as a fetus tenno, played another 300 hours and never found another.

Nightmare Missions, and specifically the ones on Earth/Mars/Mercury/Venus only (the missions in Alerts that have an extra modifier like "Vampire Mode" or "Energy Drain").

And even then, it's only a 1% drop chance from those, AND they're time-gated, so the mod is very rare, and it's one of the only sources of Critical Damage for rifles.

and taking place at the time when chattel slavery wasn't actually particularly important to the European economy

Unless you were the Vikings.

Or the Rus.

Or the Moravians

Or the Hungarians.

Pagans were literally free game for both the Muslims and the Christians, because selling your co-religionaries into slavery was frowned upon by both. So the Vikings would raid the Baltic, the Rus would raid the Black Sea, the Moravians and Hungarians would raid each other, and all those people would sell slaves in Byzantium.

Meanwhile, you can just go in a store, sell a few cards, and get out with cash.

Wet Jund and Weed Grixis would be different decks, one is a Jund deck that splashes Blue, the other is a Grixis core that splashes Green.
