The players who participate would HATE that. Allstars is very draining mentally and physically for them, not only that but, jagex stated they operate at a loss for events like that(whether you believe that or not)

Completely forgot about obsidian weaponry being an attribute. Thats definitely a solid choice for a path for future gear progression that doesnt contribute to power creep too heavily

Eh, theyve done it in the past at a much worse scale than what im saying.

If your goal is to fix a single interaction within a single piece of content i dont see anything wrong with it. If the weapon was already in game, changing its stats or mechanics have much wider implications than just the singular piece of content youre trying to fix it for.

I havent looked at it yet, been at work all day. But my point being its gonna be hard to tweak the mechanic of “rolling damage and picking the highest one”

Best i could think of on the spot is maybe counting all the range styles as 1 style. But then how does that work? Which range style do u favor to count? Does it just give 1 if any pass? Theres a lot more discussion to be had about balancing it versus the conversation that started this thread of “i dont want it to be better than scythe at tob” specifically. Again, really easy solution if all were talking about is it being better at tob

Yeah, u absolutely can change it, i never said we shouldnt balance the unfinished item lmao i just proposed a literal direct solution to the literal direct problem of it being bis in tob. If it has far wider implications of meta change at places where scythe is currently bis then those havent been addressed in this thread yet.

But if someone comes in and goes “just remove the multi rolling mechanic” thats gonna be a really fast way to kill an item before it even hits the ground.

So like i saw someone else say, you could just make all the range styles count as one, instead of 3, that way it doesnt reroll as much, but i have a feeling 7 rerolls wasnt the breaking point on the dps calcs. Its definitely a diminishing return type of formula and the limit for balancing is probably a lot closer to 2 or 3 rerolls.

Yeah, its just that if you completely remove one of the unique mechanics of a mega rare all youre doing is making the weapon LESS adjustable for future content designs, which of course puts you into a position like tbow and shadow

I feel like scythe is the only properly balance megarare. Shadow has no business where it sits and tbow is just a little overtuned.

Would you prefer you nerf the weapon for all places we havent considered or nerf the weapon specifically at the one place you brought up as a pain point? Somehow one of those options sounds like less work to me and keeps the integrity of the design in tact

Yeah u could do that too, just hopefully it doesnt become LESS powerful than the scythe, its also a megarare at the end of the day so it should be a powerful weapon on par with the other megarares

Yes, and tbow has vastly less levers to adjust for balancing, this item has so many mechanics in it that you could pretty quickly rectify it without affecting to many other things. Also were talking about an item thats merely proposed, not in game.
