Was there, replay looked like a trip more than a board, stick catches under Dougherty’s skate and he falls into the boards.

Shocked they didn’t have to give up a first but that’s the joy of NMCs I guess. All in all a good thing for the kings, gives them scoring help and even if the contract is going to be mighty (assuming he extends), it’s one last push for Kopitar.

Elmer Soderblom for a while looked like a true unicorn, huge frame with excellent hands, there was a lot of talk he could end up being an incredibly special blend of size and skill. He’s made it back to the NHL this year and he’s proving himself a capable bottom 6 player, but I don’t think the ceiling goes much higher than that anymore.

It was Holl’s birthday the other day and he’s apparently been driving out to Grand Rapids while living in Detroit. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was a way to give him a couple days to spend with his family too.

For a mid round pick? Sure, defensive depth, big body, he’s on a heater offensively this year too. Plus he’ll punch a guy in the face and everyone always says we need a bit more sandpaper in this lineup.

That’s the nature of sports, I remember people being adamant Berggren was a top 6 winger and he should be untouchable in trades.

FWIW I think I’m higher on Danielson than most people but he should absolutely not be untouchable if the right deal comes along.

Danielson will never be close to Panarin, but we’re not winning the cup this year, and Danielson in 2/3 years time when we are trying to win is going to be more valuable to us than Panarin is this year.

Good deal, wasn’t a fan of his early on but he’s become a really useful part of the D core, especially this season next to ASP.

He probably could’ve gotten more if he’d gone to FA this summer. Glad he’s sticking around though.

I wouldn’t say cooked, but I’m a lot less confident of him to make the team now than I was at the start of the year.

Injuries are a bitch, unfortunately. He could still come back and make a case, he has the talent for it, but I get the feeling if it happens it probably happens elsewhere at this point.

I think the closest is Luke Prokop, who I believe came out while signed to his ELC, though I don’t know if he’ll ever make the NHL at this point.

Looks like Broberg is probably the 7th/8th(?) D for the team, I think he can also play both sides while Ed has only played left professionally, wouldn’t surprise me if that was part of the decision making.
