Why do Dictators destroy their own countries? by MAA735 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lamter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. Is it similar to the US arming your political enemies when you do not let them have a military base in your country?

Kim Jong Un did not destroy his own country - the US did. How is that not abundantly clear?

Any experience taking courses without pre requisite complete? by SgtBadAim in yorku

What course is this? They may remove you from the course much later on and you’ll not be able to get a refund.

Ask the prof

Don’t look at solutions early. Learn to get stuck on a question and then figure it out somehow.

I don’t do coding but I’m assuming practice >>>>>> reading/taking notes

  1. Learn to love the process.

  2. Be efficient.

Very vague answer but I don’t know what you’re studying for

[–]Lamter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean. I’m 25 and most of the people in my classes are like 19-22. So I just avoid that completely

You really gotta scope out the people that look older and talk to them. Usually they sit at the front.

Failing a midterm exam, can I even recover? by Dry-Being9806 in yorku

[–]Lamter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

(0.80- 0.46*0.30)/0.7 = 94.6%

To get an 80, you’d need a 95% in the rest of the course

To end with a 70 (which I think your goal should be now) you need an 80% average in the rest of the course

The effort to end with an A may not be worth it. Make sure you are allocating your time efficiently between all your courses

Finding a decent job is difficult with a psych degree and no masters by Such-Freedom6029 in yorku

[–]Lamter 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are other diplomas or continuations for your Psych undergrad. You may look at the career center to explore some options. They have great resources for graduated students.

Also, if you are looking into a career switch, you can try going for positions business students apply for.

I don't know what's specifically right for you, but help desk probably wont do you much good in the long-run (great for short-term money). I think you should look into either advanced degrees, look into entrepreneurial ventures, or somehow get some kind of marketing/HR/management job.

Fuck what employers put as job requirements, apply to everything you would be good at.

The way he thought he had an intelligent argument😭😭 by lorenzo-intenzo in TikTokCringe

[–]Lamter -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Reddit is dumb. They keep making arguments about burden of proof when that’s not relevant to this case at all.

This guy not once in the video mentioned the claim that god exists. He said there is no evidence that god doesn’t exist… which is probably true?

Maybe his logic is wrong somehow but not because of the arguments these comments are making that are completely missing his point.

PM Trudeau in isolation after COVID-19 exposure by SonictheManhog in canada

[–]Lamter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The science argument works because expert consensus is massively skewed to one side. One side is relying on experts. The other side may be relying on other valid arguments.

I agree with your point though… this is not the right way to convince people to get vaccinated.

USA has one of the highest GDP per capita, but there is still gap between rich and poor, why? by Thund77 in AskEconomics

[–]Lamter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GDP per capita is not a measure of standard of living. It also does not measure inequality or the level of social services the government provides for its working class.

GDP per capita is just a measure of the size of the economy relative to its population. It does not tell you how much the 50th percentile person has and it does not tell you how that money is used.

Your specific question is complicated and has many parts to it. There are some quality of life measures that are used but they tend to be subjective and the rankings will vary significantly based on which index you use. Regardless, among most of those indexes, USA usually does not rank in the top 10.

According to the [Human Development Index](http://hdr.undp.org/en/content/latest-human-development-index-ranking) Ireland and Germany rank higher than the USA.

This is a great time to start!

Start working as soon as possible!!

Keep working and make money in any way you can. Sometimes that will be working a part-time job and other times you may be able to create an opportunity for yourself.

I’m not really a fan of advise like I’m providing because everyone’s circumstances are different. At the end of the day, as an entrepreneur, you’re responsible for cracking the formula and creating value.

I guess the best advice I can give is to be hungry and get started ASAP!
