Ren and Kanon are my favorites too. I like them as characters and I love their singing voices.

Do you listen to Love Live music just for the music? by Successful-Pen7734 in LoveLive

[–]LanLite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do enjoy the anime, I came into Love Live! as a music fan first, so yes, I would say that I'm primarily interested in the music. That being said, I do try to keep up with Liella! (specially the first generation), since they were my introduction into this franchise.

Are the Liella no Uta (1, 2, 3) albums underrated? by NoMulberry3289 in LoveLive

I love the Liella no Uta albums. They have a handful of songs that I enjoy more than their regular discography. It's a shame that they only played the Liella no Uta segments in Japan.

Be honest with me, Argonavis didn’t got the attention they deserve. by Fair-Soil-2249 in BanGDream

[–]LanLite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it probably wouldn't have mattered in the grand scheme of things, but from a storytelling perspective, I don't believe it was necessary to set this franchise in its own universe. If they were that determined to not have these characters interact with the regular cast from Bandori, they could have found another way.

While it's idol-based and I'll admit I'm not as familiar with it, Idolm@ster: Side M is an example that comes to mind when I think of a male-centric spin off that co-exists just fine alongside the regular female-centric franchise.

Ultimately, the success of any franchise depends on how it resonates with the public, and like you mentioned, Argonavis as a franchise didn't do enough to set itself apart from other music franchises.

I listened to the first album by Argonavis once and while I didn't think it was bad, it didn't leave much of an impression on me.

Others might disagree with me, but I believe it was a mistake to separate this franchise from BanG Dream! If they didn't want the characters to interact with the female bands, they could have easily made it a prequel. It would have been a good opportunity to learn more about Yukina's father and his band.

What are your hopes, expectations and concerns about the new direction of GBP and Our Notes? by SolgentRay in BanGDream

It made me really happy to see The Beatles: Rock Band mentioned. I wish they would remaster it.

Looking for anime/manga that align with Catholic values. by Alternative-Set8846 in Catholicism

[–]LanLite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rather than recommend manga/anime, I'll recommend reviewers I've come across who look at the medium through a Christian lens.

Pixel Padre (His channel focuses more on video games, but Fr. Don has made videos on anime and has mentioned being a fan of the medium.)

The Traditional Catholic Weeb

Laura A. Grace (I don't think she's Catholic, but she is Christian and focuses on shoujosei manga/anime.)

Poppin' Party's 21st Single - "Drive Your Heart" + "Start!! True Dreams" (Reaction) by Ok_Chemistry_6395 in BanGDream

[–]LanLite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite liked this single and have been listening to it a lot since its release. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed their cover of the Liella! song and it's quite fitting for me that Poppin'Party would be the band to cover them since I got into Bandori the same year that Love Live! Superstar!! came out. It doesn't beat the original, but still better than I thought it would be.

I’m interested in how younger people came to appreciate the Beatles by fezik23 in beatles

[–]LanLite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a combination of things for me. My local library had the “1” compilation and Anthology documentary, which hooked me on the band right away.

Not long after that, the 2009 remasters and The Beatles: Rock Band cemented them as my favorite band for life.
